We decided to go to our local auberge for my wife's birthday. We hadn't been for years and it used to be a fantastic place where the speciality was Chateaubriand steak cooked on the open fire served with chips and plenty of salad and vegetables a choix...When we arrived we were disappointed to see no fire and the atmosphere was decidedly sparse. The descriptions on the menu were mouthwatering but the reality fell far short of the mark (literally).: tiny portions with barely visible vegetables and massively overpriced - even by Swiss standards! 53 CHF for a steak the size of a potato served with a few minuscule slices of potato,onion and crumbs of lardon.Our request for chips was met with hor...
When we arrived we were greeted and showed to our table. After a somewhat prolonged wait, we placed our order and obtained some advice around our wine choice, which proved correct. The temperature of the wine was not though, which would have been better aligned to a light white wine. After a normal wait we got the rack of lamb and the steak we had ordered. While the exterior presentation of the lamb was great, we immediately noticed how it was practically raw inside. We raised the point with the waiter who took it back to the kitchen. having read all the raving reviews, we were looking forward to our sunday lunch at this restaurant. We were quite disappointed. Welcome was mediocre, we had to wait 25 minutes for the apero, not really children menus and it was with some reluctance that a child meal was prepared. Wine list was not impressed and the wine suggested was not drinkable. We were not impressed by the veau 18 months. Was not tasteful and too greasy. On the other hand, the agneau was very good as well as the menu de chasse. We might come back,...but it will take some time. PS - the waiter should also use some deodorant - very unpleasant smell
We go at least once a year to this excellent carnivore resto - although, the time before last, we went with vegetarian friends who were also well accommodated. Excellent local wines (Chateau d'Allaman included) and excellent steaks, lamb and chasse are on offer with superb service in this little traditional resto at the foot of the actual Chateau Allaman near lac leman. A chilly night but a roaring fire in this quaint restaurant greeted is as we entered. The variety of the menu and the wine list as well as a professional and friendly wait staff, made our evening spectacular. The foie gras starter was FANTASTIC. There were four of us and we each had different entrees ranging from veal to rack of lamb to venison. We each said ours was the best. We topped the evening off with wonderful flaming creme brûlée, an apple tart and a chocolate molten lave cake. This is a must visit place!
Ich lebe in Nyon und dieses Restaurant ist das beste in der Region. Ideal für besondere Anlässe. Ich war heute Abend mit meiner Frau zu unserem Jubiläum dort und obwohl es voll war, wurden wir großartig bedient. Das Chateaubriand war so gut wie es nur geht, tolles Brot, toller Wein und tolle Vorspeisen. Sehr empfehlenswert.
We went there to eat "chasse", and it was perfect. Tasty food, good presentation and nice service. The setting is also very nice, in an old village house, and the way up to the village (located above Rolle) is very scenic, in the middle of the vineyards. We will definitely go back.
The Auberge has now been closed since autumn 2015. I hope that new management will improve the price and quality of the food. The setting is lovely when the fire is lit in the autumn winter time for the hunt season. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
We always enjoy going there for a quality dinner. We live nearby and know that the food will be excellent. A bit pricy, but that's the cost of fresh quality produce.
