We were on holiday in France and visited the Normandy region for a couple of days.We ate at this absolutely wonderful restaurant in Varengeville sur Mer.We dined in the outside garden area. The ambience was perfect on a lovely sunny evening.The menu has a lot of choice. I had the set meal of “fruits de mer” and “moules frittes in a curry sauce”. The staff even allowed me to change my dessert to the cheese plate.My son had the kids menu which was served very quickly in traditional French style.The staff were very friendly, efficient and couldn’t do enough for you as a customer. I would definitely recommend eating here if you’re in the area.
We arrived in Dieppe, found the place full of cars, so we headed out of town to find a place to stay. Once accomplished, we retraced our path to L'Auberge du Relais on the innkeeper's recommendation and we were seated without delay even though we...had no reservation. The dinner was every bit as good as the exterior suggested it would be. A very appealing menu selection, and a very nice wine list. It was one of the nicest meals we had on our trip through Northern France. Following or arrival, the place filled up pretty quickly, so be aware. Parking is ample for the number of seats inside. The prices are mid range, very fair I thought.
This auberge is a great find for an excellent meal when in the Dieppe area, being twenty minutes drive from the port in the countryside. An extensive menu is offered which can be eaten outside when the weather is good enough to sit in the large south facing garden.Inside there is plenty of seating and an excellent bar. The building has a lovely character and is comfortably furnished.The food is well cooked and presented, and satisfies every expectation and need.
We arrived very late on Sunday hoping for some lunch before catching the evening ferry from Dieppe. The team at L'Auberge du Relais couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating - finding us a table and serving up delicious moules frites, salads etc followed by lovely desserts and coffee - all without rushing us, despite the fact it was nearly 5.00pm by the time we came to pay the bill. the auberge du relais is located near the center of a beautiful small village and offers a large, local normandie cuisine with a series of price-fixed menus. there is a good choice of dressing, meat and vegetarian options, and the service was very friendly and efficient. we sat. outside for the first two courses in a beautiful garden area and then offered the opportunity to move for our dessert when it began to get a bit cool. a great sound.
a beautiful village close to the staircase so convenient for the ferry to home and a good place to start or finish a holiday on a high note. this beautiful restaurant, recommended by our host, was very busy, so it is good to book. the fixed price menu was very...appropriate and the quality excellent. if everything was too big! service was friendly and attentive. we would definitely return to varengeville and to this beautiful restaurant.
I first came here for a lunch twenty years ago, and it was good then. It has improved even more and gone a bit upmarket. My friends and I had a superb lunch, en plein air, in the sun, and we enjoyed it hugely. I had a fruit de mer starter, followed by guineafowl main course, with, naturally tarte au pommes to follow. Oh, and a 'trou Normande' in between. Fantastic
this restaurant near the pier in Varengeville-sur mer has provided during our trip an excellent meal to two separate occasions. a fair price for a set menu and good eating and good ambiente. it is well supported by local mules, even with the week that is...always a good sign and with the menu on 26 euros it represents good value. the atmosphere is different due to the problems of kovid 19 and social disintegration. service and eating were excellent. we could eat here only twice, as they were closed for two days. the seafoods were excellent, and in the round everything was great, including the carafe red wine.
