Our family visited lovely picturesque Cassis, France. We wanted to spend the afternoon at a nice beach with a restaurant. Went to Plage Bestouan restaurant there was a restaurant overlooking the beach. Gerard the waiter was inviting us in. We noticed a large TripAdisor sign as we entered with 4 1/2 circles and commented to Gereard about Trip Advisor, he said, 'of course'! We later looked it up amd they had 3 1/2. We asked for a wine list for a Rose, he said Non and brought us a 30 euro rose, we soon realized there were much less expensive ones but he said we had to have that one, then we asked for a bifsteak and pomme frittes (French fries) (typical French lunch which we saw being served) an...
Upon entering this place decorated in some American beach mall style, hopes of eating well sunk. But , after a long drive ,too tired to walk to town we decided to have dinner here. Passing a huge tank with beautiful lobsters waiting to be transformed...into tourist fodder we sat down . The waiter took our orders with great care ,taking note of everybody 's preferred cooking time of stake etc. After a while we got a pile of pasta with a dead lobster on top, but no tools to open it... Lunch right on the beach, good for people watching and good food had a front row seat to the beach action. Had a great salad with Buffalo Mozzarella and the best Melon we have ever had. Linguine and fruit-de mer which was very good and fresh. Saw notes about the host and unfriendliness but we had a good experience. Beachfront eating in a fancy little beach town. Not cheap, but what you would expect for a prime location and good food.
incredibly rude staff. the type was aggressive, just because I asked to see the bill before I pay. if they are not able to pay a bill for them customers for them, then it is the debt of the restaurants and the customers. they need a review some...basic manage. You just ruined ours at night.
A lovely, but quite pebbled, beach in Cassis. Right across the highway from Hotel de la Plage Mahogany. Not super-crowded. Very easy and relaxing. Scenery was lovely.
A beer for 3.80€ and no one understands if you ask for the price list in English? Sure. Keep going, you're getting very nice reviews for what I see.
