Le Bistrot Bourguignon

The weather was warm and wet. So inside rather than Al Fresco! The restaurant is a small establishment in a town that is worth a visit as well for anyone liking food and wine. Seating is arranged outside under shades, just inside the door and a room at the rear. We sat near the bar inside the door at a small table for two. The plate de jour menu was small but it is after all just lunch. I had the steak, mashed potatoes with a light creamy mustard yummy sauce followed by lavender flavoured icecream and slices of fresh nectarine topped with a little cream. Beautiful! Stopped here for lunch on the way to the south of France. They have a good, short and simple menu, a good and again short list of wines by the glass. The menu is a mixture of traditional Burgundy dishes and a few slightly more contemporary touches though nothing too 'nouveau.' I had a charcuterrie, trout tartare and boef Bourgignon with two glasses of white selected by the waiter. It was all excellent, I marked them down one point purely because the bread, whilst fresh, was not in the sourdough, pain de campagne style but was a quickly risen modern baguette, spongy and tasteless and not up to the standard of the other food. Don't let it put you off though, everything else was excellent.

Dear friends of TripAdvisor, last Saturday night my girlfriend and I were looking for a light dinner in Beaune city centre. We tried to approach this Bistrot there were tables available and one was reserved for 9.30 for 4 people. But a Lady immediately stopped us saying in an unpleasant way that it was Saturday and they were tired. So she thought a little a bit again ( a couple of second) and repeated:"yes we are tired... sorry but we don't take other people...".So call in advance to reserve a table and please hope they won't be tired of doing their job... they are making you a favor to serve you...

Nous avons tout d'abord pris un verre de vin sur la petite terrasse rue passante très bon accueil et conseil sur le choix du vin. Une petite carte annonce les vins mais également qq "tapas" lorsque nous rentrons nous découvrons un lieu superbe comme nous les aimons, il y a une carte plus complète avec des plats de qualité belle présentation et vraiment un accueil très chaleureux et très beau choix de vin. Tellement on aime nous y retournons samedi !! Je recommande l'assiette de fromages ! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

Venus pour un apéro, nous avons été servis et conseillés sur le vin avec professionnalisme et efficacité, la serveuse n'hésitant pas à donner un conseil en cas de mauvais mariage entre le vin et les mets. Un peu cher pour deux verres de vins et la nourriture mais la cadre est sympathique, la petite terrasse dans une rue de Beaune accepte les chiens et le personnel est souriant. Un service restauration est possible mais la carte nous a paru banale. À tenter quand même.

Loved the feel of this place. Could easily have stayed for a few glasses of wine after my meal if we'd not have been staying outside of Beaune and needed to drive.The food and wine were delicious and service very good.I had the snails to start followed by a delicious (and very generous portion) of veal for my main. Would love to have tackled a dessert as they looked delicious but sadly had no room left.

Ce bar à vins est devenu notre incontournable à chaque fois que nous sommes sur Beaune. Accueil très sympa. Plat simple mais très bon. Allez y les yeux fermés. Et les vins j'en parle pas. ( le viré glissé Blanc est une tuerie) les gougeres au foie gras ...

Joli cadre, accueil sympathique et service agréable. La carte des vins est impressionnante. La cuisine est simple et bonne !
