We booked at Le Bistrot on a recommendation and were not disappointed. The charming staff were maybe a bit over-stretched for the number of customers, but that was a minor glitch for a meal that was superb throughout. Great starters included one of aubergine, tomato and mozarella slices, gratineed. The 'brochette du moment' was pork, with a sticky sauce that complemented the meat perfectly. Rounded off with salted caramel mousse.All excellent value, including the wines.Worth a visit, away from the main tourist drag.
We were on our way to Amboise from Bayeux and stopped in Le Mans for lunch. We had no idea where to go but we walking around town and found Le Bistrot Des Gourmets. What a great find, the owner and staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent as was the wine. This felt like a local place and not a tourist destination. As said the food and drink were excellent, the prices were very reasonable. If in the area or just driving through stop and as least have lunch.
The staff was very nice, pleasant and helpful and I feel make the difference in the place. Bistrot des Gourmets as a brand name sounds however a bit pretentious. The food is good don't get me wrong but it's not, in my humble opinion gourmet caliber. The fish carpacio lacked flavor and depth. The andouillette was real nice though. I guess being a gourmet is all relative. Thanks to the staff for being so nice and the really nice wine pairing suggestions.
This restaurant was close to our hotel so we found it by chance. The meal and service were excellent and as the title says, the Entrecote was amazing.Very friendly staff who helped us out with a parking solution so that I didn't have to park my conspicuous red TVR on the street overnight. Way beyond the call of duty for them and forever grateful.

We had a fantastic time at this fab restaurant where the owner made us feel very welcome and the food is great and so fresh it is umbeliveable..Great craic...the wine was really good and the prices wasnt too hight....we recommend this adress to all the Brits and Yanks in the beautifull city of Le mans
We found this place by accident, but the staff were welcoming, they tried to speak with us in English which is rare for France. The food was super, and delivered rapidly. All in all, this was a pleasant surprise.
Amazing!!. Great welcome. Professional, friendly service. Really relaxed atmosphere. Some of the best food I've tasted. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Will definitely be back. Superb!!!!
Very nice discovery! I took the surprise menu as I am very difficult, and ALL absolutely was delicious!!! Very good dishes presented and balanced mouth. If I could put six stars I would!
