Food, service and atmosphere were good, close to perfect. I give 3 stars only because, given the quantity and size of pancakes I got, I didn't feel that was reflected in the cost, but then again... If I'm paying 16 CHF for 3 (7 cm diameter) pancakes, I rather have a 3 nice big pancakes (preferably not burned, like the one hidden in the bottom). I mean, praise to the local ingredients consideration, but I was expecting (maybe wrongly) bigger sized, or at least 6 (of the similar size) pancakes to find it a fair deal for the price. Ich bin hierher gekommen, um Kaffee zu trinken und zu lesen, denn die Aussicht ist einfach spektakulär! Die Lage ist wohl eine der besten in Vevey. Der Kaffee ist gut, aber nicht der beste. Dennoch ist es ein sehr angenehmer Ort, und aufgrund des ausgezeichneten Service und der sehr höflichen Art des Kellners mit Schnurrbart werde ich wiederkommen, um zu essen und Freunde mitzunehmen. Die Dekoration ist wirklich beeindruckend, und das Gesamtpaket macht einen Besuch auf jeden Fall lohnenswert. Die Kombination aus scheinbar glücklichem und höflichem Personal, der Dekoration und der Lage macht diesen Ort wirklich großartig!
The food is great and the place is cosy and is very inviting. The major downside are the waitresses that seem to loath every minute of their time spent in the establishment. Not a single Hello, Goodbye, thanks or whatnot. Took the brunch combos and they were pretty good (they say it comes with spinnache in cream sauce but it's in salad not cooked form) but was missing a little salt. When we asked for the bill we had to wait 20min for the waitress to bring it to us then leave straight away without letting us pay for another 15min (I just left the cash on the table as I was fed up waiting longer to pay than to eat).
Le Café littéraire ist ein sehr angenehmes Lokal mit Blick auf den See und der Gemeindebibliothek von Vevey als unmittelbarem Nachbarn. Die Auswahl an vegetarischen Gerichten ist vielfältig, ebenso das umfangreiche Brunch-Menü. Die Wein- und Getränkekarte ist breit gefächert und gut zusammengestellt, mit vielen lokalen Produkten. Mehrmals im Monat finden abends kulturelle Veranstaltungen statt. Die Dekoration ist schlicht und spricht eine junge Kundschaft an, das Personal ist freundlich und effizient. Sehr zu empfehlen für Gäste, die es nicht zu förmlich mögen.

Kleine, qualitativ hochwertige Gastronomie mit regionalen Produkten. Im Winter gibt es ausgezeichnete hausgemachte heiße Schokoladen. Ein Bereich ist für Kinder mit Spielen eingerichtet. Verschiedene Lektüren (Zeitungen, Bücher) stehen zur Verfügung. Ganzjähriges literarisches Programm mit Gästen und Schriftstellern. Direkt am See gelegen, mit Terrasse. Sehr freundliche Bedienung. Keine laute Musik. Was will man mehr?
Excellent walk in meal with my adult family. A superb welcome from owner and a young English speaking guy from behind the bar. Fresh innovative food superbly presented in a great atmosphere. Couldn’t believe we were so lucky. Really reasonably priced unlike our hotel which charge what they fancy as they think they are better than they are. A real gem on the lakeside in Vevey. Well done guys
A brilliant lunch spot on a sunny day, shaded tables right on the lakeside, with a very good value and interesting plat du jour. Loved it.
Second time around was better! Pancakes were looking good and tasty! Chai latte is a no-go though unless you like sugary drinks
