le Clapton cafe - Tisch reservieren

We stopped for a bite of lunch on our way home to Brittany. It was busy, always a good sign but we were served quickly. We had the Maison Burger and it was delicious and reasonably priced for a ‘proper’ quality burger. The owners were very pleasant and welcoming to us and our dog. Reading some other reviews I was quite amazed to see that someone had expected the owners to be from east London, because of the name of the place. They were disappointed that the present and previous owners were French! Well, imagine that in France eh? Well worth a visit for good food and a warm welcome

We like to visit the “Village Etape” on our travels as you can normally find somewhere nice to have lunch and this place didn’t disappoint. They also allowed us to bring in our small quiet dog which is a bonus to us we both had the Burgers which were delicious and the chips were proper home made, lovely! The husband and wife team were clearly very busy but we didn’t have to wait long.

Very nice place, amd acommodating on top. I have visited with my parents who don’t speak French and the restaurant has done its utmost to accommodate us. A bad extof a restaurant just across the street, a pizzeria where we had an entirely different experience.

Claptons is fine. Run by 2 people. He cooks, she serves. Friendly welcome, good food, utterly excellent Normandy cider. Reasonably priced. Decent music (the name says it all!

Highly recommended. Exceptional service and great food from the lovely owners, who catered for our high-protein lifestyle with consummate ease.
