The restaurant has an incredibly elegant ambiance that makes you feel like you've stepped into a dinner party right out of a Jane Austen novel. The waitstaff, dressed in tuxedos, and the luxurious carpets and stunning artwork add to the sophisticated atmosphere. We were treated to a special moment when the chef prepared flambéed shrimp right in front of us, served alongside rice and carrots. The complimentary bread and butter was freshly baked and absolutely delicious. The shrimp was fantastic as well, but I found the rice and carrots to be just average, lacking in flavor and texture. Great classic French restaurant where they cook many dishes tableside. I highly recommend a Rodney Strong Pinot Noir for a red wine. We got the filet mignon, which was cooked to perfection at our table. Vegetable side were great and the additional cream spinach and augratin potatoes were perfect. The texture and temperature of the steak was perfect. I prefer a little more seasoning, otherwise great cut that you should try. The escargot in garlic butter is very good. The lobster bisque is not something I would order again. It seems flour based vs creamy, a little fishy and the lobster was not prepared well (chewy). The service was great. Highly recommend this place.
This is undoubtedly my favorite restaurant in the world! I truly mean that. Having just returned from Napa, California, where I dined at a renowned restaurant, I can confidently say that this place offers a superior dining experience in every aspect. A few years back, we explored some of the best restaurants in New York, and the only one that came close to this was Daniel. The steaks here are thick, juicy, and cooked to perfection. They also serve the best Caesar salad I've ever tasted! This restaurant is simply perfect. If you're looking for the best steakhouse experience in Canada, this is the place to go!
Eating here is a unique experience. The delicious food served consists of traditional French dishes expertly prepared and finished by the wait staff, which works like clockwork, in a perfectly coordinated, choreographed dance. Our waiter not only took care of us and other tables, but also cooked our steak and a sauce, which means timing the preparation and thickening of the sauce, and the perfect cooking of a steak, to the point requested, while carrying out other tasks. Great food and a spectacular experience. The staff was amazing and the table side theatrics exceeded expectations. We ordered fillets and salmon as the main courses and the portions were perfect for a multi course meal. Suggest booking well in advance. We made the reservation a month early and got lucky with one reasonable dinner time option within a two week period. It’s also teen friendly and casual attire is acceptable even though the staff were super formal. It’s expensive, as expected, but a truly unique and memorable experience.
*Older review*: The lamb was good, but the filet was overly charred on the outside, and the sauce had a burnt taste. I've been to much better steakhouses elsewhere. The service was quite inconsistent; for example, the waiter placed an empty pot right on our side table while cooking for another table. There were other empty tables and a service cart he could have used, or he could have simply taken the cart from our table if he needed to use it.
Really nice place. Inside should be updated somewhat and maybe more modern than what it is. Tables are a little bit tight. Dinner was wonderful, see pictures. Reservation system online is definitely a challenge multiple process set up. Great location in the walled city.

The waiter cooks your steaks tableside, so it makes for a great experience. The Filet Mignon was excellent. The Scallops with Caviar on top was exquisite. The Rack of Lamb was really good as well. All around great experience and good food.
