I desperately look for authentic Chinese food everywhere in this town and here comes again a disappointment.Frankly speaking, comparing with other Asian restaurants in town, this one has better ambience, better service, better presentation of food. But finally it is still the same concept of menu, same type of food you can find in the others but with lower price. Too expensive for what it is so I wouldn't recommend especially if you are looking for real Chinese food.
After a week in Brittany and Normandy we spent a night in Rouen and wanted something different. Le Jardin de Chine was a perfect counterpoint to too much French food, and too many crepes. French style Chinese is quite different from UK style, with more subtle flavouring, and a narrower menu. You get the feeling that it is cooked especially, not a base formula with adjustments. Clean flavours, lovely ambiance and friendly service. Highly recommended.
I ordered a seafood soup with extra noodles (8 euros) and shrimp dumplings (5.5 euros). The noodle soup is more like Thai food, hot and sour. The shrimp dumplings are not exceptional. My friend's wonton noodle (10 euros) tastes better. The service is good and the atmosphere is nice. The staffs are quite helpful. It's difficult to find such a delicate Chinese restaurant in Haute Normandy. Btw the price is acceptable.
I often come to this restaurant. According to me, this is the best chinese restaurant in Rouen. They make it a bit fancy, however do not expect authentic chinese food, they try to adapt themselves to french people. The staff have been always nice to us. I recommend you to book in advance if you plan to go there during the weekend (especially for dinner). I love their rice and noodles. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
We were traveling as a couple. Reading the comments, I was enthousiastic. Unfortunately, this restaurant is merely your standard chines take away, pimped with some tables. Food was take away food, nothing special... the fact that you order numbers says it all... don't go there, just order them as take away...
Excellent friendly service and nice and clean premises. I had the sweet and sour pork (for my sweet tooth) and it was very yummy. Wife had chicken with cashews but I thought it was a little salty, however, this is my review so my meal wins!
