Good food and lovely atmosphere.The staff are friendly and very accommodating, although there was only one spot when ordering wine where we got lost in the translation, but oh well, our French should be better. The atmosphere is nice and quite homely. The food:Crab meat and orange remoulade as amuse bouchesFor starters I had chanterelle mushrooms and lamb sweetbreads volauvent and Chris had calamari and shellfish with chickpeas and coconut. Chris couldn't taste the coconut. Mains, Chris had Beef cheeks with anchovies on top and sweet potato rounds (mmmm char grilled and tasty sweet potato) but the anchovies were rather out of place. We were staying at nearby Chateau le Pape and were recommended this restaurant . Set in a lovely rural area , dinner was served outside in a rustic setting surrounded by trees with the tables well spaced and large. The food and service were excellent . A good choice from the set menu which cost approx 35 euros per person for three courses . An extensive wine list as you would expect in wine country . Service was a little on the slow side as the restaurant filled up but we were on holiday so didn't really mind . As the evening drew on it got a little chilly but blankets were provided for all the diners if required .All in all a really enjoyable evening . Dress is casual and a relaxed evening...
I am a food and wine guide and had to squeeze in a quick lunch between two wine châteaux visits in the atmospheric and historic wine region of Pessac Leognan, just to the south of Bordeaux city. Arriving late and having to leave early, we were greeted with a smile and served perfectly. Relaxing setting, fresh food beautifully presented. What a pleasure - which meant we could relax and know we were in safe hands and on time for the next visit and winetasting at Château Haut Bailly.
If you’re looking for a peaceful exquisitely cooked meal surrounded by forest in the Bordeaux vineyard region, this should tick all your boxes. It’s well hidden off the beaten track but easily found via Google Maps. Wine from the vineyard can be bought in their shop and on weekdays there are a variety of tours available. Their three course set menu “Le Tour de Manége” costs (currently) €39.00 but is very fine cuisine thus not copious. We certainly intend to return! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
The setting is wonderful, surrounded by horses in the fields. Service was very friendly and efficient. I ordered the gravlax which was simply delicious, probably one of the best I have ever tasted. My husband had a very good fish dish and we had some iberico ham to share with the kids. we had deserts which were delicious and they offered us some sweets with coffee. I am not normally a fan of the classic French macaroons but these were yummy. Recommend.
Dinner at Le Manege was exceptional!!! From the warm welcome we received to the fond farewell of the staff, everything about this extraordinary restaurant was everything we had hoped for and more!!! Amazing outdoor eating environment, exquisite food and outstanding wine!!! Everything was perfect. I only wish we could eat there more often, but our trip to the Bordeaux region is brief. Given the opportunity, we will return as quickly as we can!!!
Really nice place. We went for starters and tapas style dishes as so hot didn't really want anything cooked. All dishes were excellent. Easily worth a visit for dinner. Wine prices quite high but quality producers. We stuck to the chateau's own wines which were great value and delicious.
A group of 7 of us came for dinner at Le Manege and experienced on of my best dinner in years. Great ambience, food, and service all around. The aperitifs, entrees, and desserts were all excellent. The wines were excellent...La Tour Martillac 2005...highly recommended! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
2nd time there with my wife. A bit complicated to find. Good and uncomplicated French food. Carte could be a bit busier but safe selection of dishes. Good quantities. Busy with locals. Great service. Terrace must be great in the summer. A safe bet.
