we stopped here for lunch. tables in the shadow straight out of the main train, but with view of the coming and going of the harbour. Most tourist but less tourist than the awning-ed places that had found the harbour either less than. excellent or heaping the price for less than special food. we had seebarsch x 2, a 50cl bottle of local rose and a half bottle of san pellegrino, total cost a bare 60 euro. the service was fast and good. the fish was deliciously generous, simply fried in butter, but not drowned (can almost be grilled). a lunch stop before others round the harbour.
For the first time in cassis, rather a picturesque little port and we went to Marco Polo. I was there with my crew for only 1 night and we found this little night restaurant. Service good... the Salmon as appetizer, really good... and then the...sea bass.. Delicious. We took th menu of 25 Euro and it was worth it, with a nice glass of local white wine..mmmm...overall a very nice restaurant with good and swift service, very friendly and a splendid view on the harbour ... Delicious lunch, very accommodating hostess (it was pouring rain on May 26, the Fête du Vin Cassis 2019) and she did her best to keep every patron dry and happy for lunch. Judging by the other patrons, lots of locals and few tourists which is...always a good sign of fine dining.
Excellent cuisine, good products very well prepared for a reasonable price! Friendly staff and well-placed restaurant that ruins nothing!
