The food was undeniably the best in Quebec, with the duck confit standing out alongside the vibrant and flavorful vegetables grown on site. Each main dish also comes with a starter, and I opted for the octopus with a small surcharge, which was tender and perfectly seasoned. Paired with a glass of Bourgogne, it was a delightful combination. We made lunch reservations before our tour and were impressed with the very nice atmosphere and top-notch service without any attitude. Our soup was delicious and the iced tea was very good, although we weren't offered a refill. My husband enjoyed the fish and chips along with a local red beer, while I tried the elk carpaccio, which I discovered was raw. It was well-prepared and a bit out of my comfort zone, but I managed to eat it! There didn't seem to be a strict dress code, but business casual attire fit right in. We noticed some well-dressed gentlemen at lunch, which reminded us that we were dining in a government building rich in history and people.
We had a lunch after guided tour. We have chosen table d'hote for two persons. For 44 CAD each of us got an appetizer, three small dishes, dessert and coffee. The meal was a sort of fusion cuisine, with many elegant small touches, such as sea buckthorn berry in dessert. All in all, better value than most restaurants in old city. Strongly recommended.
The restaurant offers a complimentary guided tour from the inside, which is highly informative and lasts about 1 hour. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is well-maintained. Unfortunately, in the winter, guests may miss out on the outer beauty of the building as most of the statues, well, and even the garden are covered with snow.
The restaurant has a very beautiful exterior and interior. During the summer, it is adorned with colorful flowers. They offer free guided tours in both French and English, which typically last about an hour. I highly recommend taking advantage of this opportunity.
came here after the free guided tour of the Parliament building. Fine food for a steal! 3 course tasting menu with a coffee/tea for only $30. Exquisite coating and presentation, and I was told to try to use local products.
It's quite challenging to locate the correct entrance after hours. The hall is stunning. The food was mediocre, with the veal being overcooked.
Endroit remarquable et prestigieux. Les repas servis sont de la grande gastronomie. Plusieurs grandes personnes y sont passés.
