to stay in cucuron, we have eaten here twice. we had no reservation for the first time, but the owner (and chef and waiter) has placed us out an additional table. He's charming and funny. that was delicious. auberginen parmesan, pasta with muscheln, cannelloni. all. and I think the best salate I ever had. the second time we went the items on the limited menu were not available, so he made two different pastas for us. these were good, but not as excellent as the menu points. this was also one of the best bargains in the Provence, where we found eating expensive and somewhat unimaginable.
today I had a delicious lunch in le parrot. I had rigatoni with calamari. the calamari was plentiful, tender and tasty and the rigatoni was perfectly cooked. the sauce was rich with a great deep of taste. the owner told us that the sauce was cost over three hours and the calamari was grilled. I also had fresh pineapple with amaretto for dessert. who knew how delicious this could be! the environment was beautiful. the owner was very gracious and gave us free wine and water. I can't recommend this place enough.
After we were disproved in two other restaurants in cucuron rudely because we had no reservation, le parrot was wonderful! the owner/cook/waiter/busboy not only greeted us, but wore a table and four chairs outside for us! the best meal we had in the Provence. we went back the next night and it was fantastic again!
Really lovely food. Unassuming restaurant. Was expecting an average quick lunch and ended up having the best ever calamari pasta I've ever tasted. A one man band run by a lovely chap. Highly recommended.
