I was planning to attend a performance at the Westport Country Playhouse, and I wanted a restaurant near the theatre. I've been to Le Penguin in Greenwich, and the Westport location was ideal. This space is a bit larger than the Greenwich restaurant and includes outdoor tables, but it has the same attentive service and wonderful food with a good wine list. I appreciate restaurants that focus on giving diners a good meal with good service and no gimmicks. At both locations, I feel as though I'm dining in someone's home. Sunday brunch on a very hot day in Connecticut. Street fair in town so restaurant mostly empty, Thought food delivery for such a small group was a bit slow as compared to Bernard's of equal quality and cost. Would buy bottle of wine next time as by the glass not worthy of cost. Food quite good but for price point there are other less expensive alternatives for brunch.
Spectacularly good dinner and service for such a super busy and high energy place. The menu and preparation is similar to a French city restaurant. It is an exhilarating night out for great food and fun. Be prepared, it is like eating at a famous, crowded and noisy 'after show ' restaurant on Broadway 'but ' you are treated like all the other famous people).
I had the most delightful experience at Le Penguin. I stopped in to grab a drink and ended up having wonderful conversations with Matthew, our server, and Gerard. They were warm and welcoming and we drank delicious wine and ate wonderful bread. The setting was romantic and elegant and I can’t wait to come back! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

This small local restaurant is the perfect spot for delicious food, a great atmosphere, and excellent service. We have visited at least twelve times and the Tuna Tartare and Escargot are always amazing! It's a fantastic place for lunch.
The dining experience at this restaurant was exceptional, from the first sip of wine to the final bite of dessert. The service was equally outstanding, and we will definitely be coming back again.
Very good as always. I love the lamb but could they change up the vegetables with it? Been served with white beans for a long time. Otherwise all great. The soft shell crab was outstanding!
Patio seating is a great option to enjoy French proportioned seafood and steaks. Don’t miss the tomato tart to start. And if it happens to be your birthday you’ll meet Le Penguin
