Et dans l’assiette, ce n’est pas mieux : plats fades (obligé d’ajouter sel et poivre), salade sans intérêt, et un plat local peu copieux et fade (là encore, obligé de rajouter sel et poivre). Beaucoup trop cher pour ce qui a été servi. Clairement un attrape-touristes, avec des pommes de terre même pas cuites. Les desserts ? Niveau bas de gamme, rien de maison. Honnêtement, on trouve mieux en surgelé. Un vacherin qui n’en avait que le nom et un café gourmand qui n’avait rien de gourmand (deux macarons ordinaires et trois minuscules gâteaux qui n...
We loved in Germany from 1974-78 and traveled to kayserberg many times, dining at many of the fine restuarants there! In June 2015, we were in France and traveled to Kayserberg. As it was two years ago, we cannot remember the names of the restaurants we dined at for lunch and dinner, but they were fabulous! One of the meals was Choucroute, a combonation of the mist wonderful, mellow sauerkraut or " choucroute" in the French language, with a variety of ham hocks, sausages, porkmchoos and other variety pork delicacies piled on top! We highly recommend this dish..We gave the one above a five star, as an example of most of these fine Alsatian Restaurants!
This restaurant is actually in Kientzheim (as owner was at pains to point out!) although just across road from Kayserberg. As not in centre less used by tourist. Restaurant has a slight cafe feel/look to it. However we had an excellent meal - my wife had one of the best foie gras she has had in a long while (sorry to those fussy about food). I had an excellent starter main (wild deer) and dessert. Owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about regions and wines. (We went to one he recommended and it was exceptionally quality/value).Definitely worth a visit if you are staying a few days and want to avoid usual tourist haunts in main town.
Un peu à l'écart du centre mais proche des parkings, il vaut le détour, très bon accueil, le foie gras maison est à tomber, les plats très bien cuisinés et généreusement servis. Une bonne adresse !
