Nice spot for a quick drink near the marche. Service was friendly. What could have been better: the lunch menu isn't great, and what we ordered was just about ok. The burrata and tomato salad is confused and could have been so much better. I felt it was put together by someone who does not enjoy salads, and stuck a burrata on top of their traditional side dish. As others noted the vinaigrette is not homemade (for the price, you'd expect it). The filet was actually strips of cold meat with a few pieces of gherkin. Not terrible at all, but neither of us would order this again or come back. The proof is in the pudding: while the place was very busy for pre-lunch aperitif, it became much quieter...
La Repere is the perfect place to enjoy a couple of sundowners and a tapas dish or two. The host, Virginie, was friendly, accommodating and courteous throughout all of our visit, and she wore a hygiclear mask and practiced social distancing. 2 Affligem a la pression were beautifully served and Virginie talked us through the tapas-style menu with insight and charm. We ordered 6 dishes which all came in good time, were tasty and got finished off rather efficiently. The host took the time to cater to our needs and even, as the bar custom dwindled a little, came to chat to us. She was charming and gracious. La Repere is not The Ritz, but it has its charm and glamour. We shall return!
It’s obvious that they use very high quality ingredients for their tapas because everything is so fresh and delicious. The cocktails here are also amazing. Overlooking the charming port of Ars, it is one of the best places in île de Re for light meals and aperitif with very friendly atmosphere. Especially when we don’t want to eat heavy meals, the generous servings of two or three tapas with some wine or cocktails are just perfect. Super pet friendly and always providing doggie drink bowls. Even during the busy period, the service is always quick and efficient. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, no wonder we keep coming back for their delicious tapas
We asked for iced coffee without sugar and they told us they made iced coffee with “sirop d’orgeat” and so we asked for the coffee without to which they said ok. When they brought the coffees they said they added cane sugar. So I went back and asked again to have the coffee without sugar because I am diabetic. The server, Virginie, then became extremely irritated and was very rude. I finally got my coffee but this was an overall very bad experience.
Delicious tapas and lovely ambiance New to the area whilst on holiday, we stumbled upon this fabulous restaurant overlooking the charming port of Ars, in our opinion it’s one of the best places on Ile de Re for a light meal with a very friendly atmosphere. We took the recommendation from the young waitress and had the 3 tapas together with 6 oysters, it was all so fresh and delicious, fantastic flavours…. Highly recommend the Le Repere Ars in Re
Rain or shine, Le Repère is such a fantastic spot to eat and hang out. Service crew is so very kind and thoughtful, coffee is delicious and home made pastries a must. Closest to the farmers market and facing the sunset later in the day if you’re up for tapas. Last but not least, wine list is amazing. No wonder locals have their habits there ;
Fantastic bar with a great vibe! The drinks were expertly crafted, and the atmosphere was lively and enjoyable. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the overall experience top-notch. Highly recommended for a night out with friends
