This was our first visit to Charentes so walked in to the town and came across Le Shalimar As I love Indian food and the tables were on the pedestrian area I live that Service was good I had sheek kabab a bit tasteless to be honest I also had beef madras for my main again it was like beef with a curry sauce there was no spice to it left disappointed as I said I love Indian food But the service was good please don’t let this put you off my wife really enjoyed hers so it might have just been a one off Staff are very nice I would come again and try something different
We ate for the second time here and were not disappointed. the entrance was simple but effective. Korma chicken and punjabi chicken are both very good. The spinach and the rice sweater were delicious! for those who love, the halowa (smoule cake in dessert) is served hot and is top! a great restaurant to make on charters
Was unsure at first at how Indian the food would actually be. It was excellent, the staff were polite and nice! The atmosphere and vibes were good and I would recommend this place to anybody if you're looking for a real authentic Indian restaurant with reasonable prices! Will be back inshallah :)
I live in Chartres,and have never got round to going there..after reading your reviews, I finally went!Wow! I have travelled in India many times..I have eaten in the other Indian restaurants here,but without doubt this is the most authentic Indian/Pakistani food.. absolutely excellent!

I will surely come back. food an dservice are excellent. I am impressed because this restaurant is quite new in town I will recommend to have dinner there.even at noon you can enjoy they have open air seated too. Quite lovely. See you guys and continue like this

Really enjoyed the meal here while visiting Chartres. It's a "French" Indian restaurant without the choice we'd expect in the UK but it was still a good meal and we both enjoyed what we ate. Loved the cocktail Pona
