This place is absolutely adorable, and the food is both fresh and delicious. It has a charming country vibe that adds to its appeal. My husband and I visited for a date night since we just moved to the area, and the staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. We started by sharing a small bowl of crawfish étouffée and a pistolette. The étouffée had a fantastic roux and full flavor, with the crawfish tasting fresh instead of frozen. The pistolette was equally impressive, generously loaded with gravy and crawfish. My husband ordered gator nuggets, which he said tasted fresh and weren't overly gamey. Good atmosphere, friendly service, great food! A group of six of us ate here for the first time last week. It's a little drive outside Livingston, but we will most likely be back, as the Livingston restaurants are wanting.The paper menu they hand you is completely out of date with options (such as the no longer offered all you can eat catfish) and prices. However, the giant blackboard where you order has correct information.All of our food was out at the same time in a timely fashion, and it was all hot. We also liked that the breading on our fried foods was light (even the french fries). Everyone ate something different from the menu, and there were no complaints and very little leftovers.
Had the Chicken Sausage Gumbo for an appetizer and it was okay but nothing like Don's or Fezzo's. Main course was the Catfish Thin Cut with coleslaw, hush puppies and fries. Every bit of that was really good. My other half had the Jumbo Shrimp and that was really good, too. They have tartar sauce, cocktail sauce and remoulade sauce; they were all good! Atmosphere could have been improved by figuring out how to get rid of the flies. Other than that, the bathrooms were clean and the service was outstanding.
It was our first time visiting, and what a lively place it was! There was a steady stream of customers. When we sat down, we thought it would take at least 30 minutes for our food to arrive, but to our surprise, it was ready in about 5 minutes! I ordered the fried chicken, while my husband chose the Cajun shrimp and pasta. He absolutely adored his dish. To my amazement, my fried chicken was even better than Cane's, which I usually love! The atmosphere was fun, and we definitely plan to return!

The food is excellent, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. You place your order at the counter when you arrive and then find a seat, which is a bit unconventional for this type of restaurant, but it works well. This setup might even help save a little money on tips for both them and us! Plus, just a short walk down the road is a lovely lake, so you can enjoy that too if you’d like.
Great place for seafood/catfish- really just about anything for which you might have an appetite. Friendly staff and very bayou homey atmosphere. Walk up to the counter to view the menu board, place your order and find your favorite table or big booth. We had the pick 2 with fried jumbo shrimp and thin and crispy catfish. It was very good. Definitely recommend.
Excellent experience here tonight. Thin Catfish is great, crispy goodness. Shrimp was plump ,crispy, and perfectly cooked. Oysters crisp crust soft inside. Blackened Catfish was perfect with the crawfish etoufee and red beans. Chicken poboy. Outstanding as well. I am excited to go back.
amazing place and food, the price is right and the waiting time bearable. Highly recommended, their wide menu has many delicious options, the atmosphere is very nice. I hope to return and taste other plates.
