Puzzled as to how les Coulisses currently ranks number 1 on this site, for Marciac. Perhaps one eats better here in the evening than at lunchtime; only the menu du jour and a la carte are available at midday. That said one notes that the...Menu Gascon features a demi-magret; first time I have seen a half portion of this Gers classic offered on a menu. perhaps that ethos should have warned us. We had the menu du jour, 3 courses with coffee but NOT wine, €15.50 each. Each course was reasonably well cooked, but hardly copious. The beef tongue sauce was tasty, but the tongue itself lacked flavour. The dessert, moelleux de chocolat was (unsurprisingly) on the small side, but was otherwise very go...
We arrived at 7.30pm on Friday evening and as you’d expect it was fairly busy, but not full. I ordered the duck and whilst it was well cooked, the plate was cold and very quickly so was the meat. My partner had the cod which...was excellent. We asked three times for some bread with our meal but it never arrived. Other tables received bread without asking. Perhaps our poor spoken French counted against us? At the end the restaurant tried to overcharge us. Disappointing.
Whilst the restaurant is nicely fitted and welcoming the menu was very disappointing. If burgers are your thing then you will eat well. Portion sizes are ridiculously large which meant that I was unable to enjoy a simple salad for first course then my chosen...main course. Resulting in an over dose of protein and not a vegetable in sight. Very unflexible. Seemed to appeal to the other diners but not to us.
we visited on Wednesday night and the restaurant was quite busy, so had a good atmosphere. we had a beautifully cooked and very tasty steak and also the menu of the day that was a good value for money (gascony salat, magret chocolate dessert)....We will definitely be back.

in a few words, this place has fantastic dishes and a beautiful location while on a trip in the country gers! for big teller and terroir! personal is nice and friendly
a great meal, divided a crostini star and then we had both baked bark. iced nougat parfait dessert to share with a small bottle of rose wine-excellent!
delicious food and wine plus large service, also at a busy evening in the february. we chose the menu gascon, absolutely delicious.
Les Coulisses is an enjoyable restaurant in Marciac with surprisingly good food and local wines to match. Try their foie gras.

The best meal I've eaten this year- every mouthful was yummy! Wish we were staying longer so we could come again!
Innovative menu away from the traditional local fare. The staff are very friendly and the desserts are fantastic
