We were fortunate to be staying with friends in the area who could recommend this little restaurant as it is not very noticeable from the road. It is on the outskirts of the small pretty town of Cunlhat (pron: kye-err), with just a sign by the road. From there a track leads through fields to the car park. The building is quite rustic, with a terrace overlooking the fields and trees; a lovely spot to sit outside on the terrace on a summer evening. we had a choir meal in les pissoux at the end of the choir tour of my English chorus Ex-Andreas in the opposite. I'm a native who just lived outside of cunlhat, and although I had traveled many times past, I hadn't eaten there...before eating was nice, I had escaped that was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented, and a super boiled crème brûlée that is one of my test dishes. The restaurant is outside the town - give yourself a few minutes extra to find it. You'll drive down a 300m track from the road and find a parking space, then walk through to the restuarant with it's terrace overlooking the lake. The location also has a number of "gypsy" caravans you can rent in the summer. First impressions are you've walked into a hippy 'encampment' but once inside you find a very comfortable well furnished room with a pizza oven blazing on one corner, and friendly staff. Menu is short and traditional, a good place to go if you like frogs legs, duck confit, etc. but also an extensive range of pizzas.
