We have reached July which means we have reached time to celebrate my birthday. As I have gotten older, I have gone away from a party to celebrate. I prefer just a nice dinner with friends either home or at the restaurant. The challenge, as always, is to find somewhere that works for a group – where we can easily share and where the cost to my friends is reasonable. I hate forcing my friends to splurge at my expense. Well, for this year, I decided to stay close to home in Verdun to try our hand at some Cambodian cuisine at Les Street Monkeys.
While the food was delicious, the portions were really small and overpriced. I understand it’s tapas but the price/size ratio was just not right. The service was ok until we had to pay. Tip starts at 18% When we chose the “other” option the waiter rolled his eyes, he was standing there just waiting to see how much we were tipping. Would be nice if they had a fairly priced menu because the food was actually tasty.
Food was great, especially the beef stir fried , insane! My only complaint is that we waited like 15 min to be seated after coming a couple minutes late to our reservation, no biggie. I would recommend this place 100% and would want to come back.
This was an amazing experience! The food take on South East Asian yummies was incredible. Beers were ok, but the cocktails were where it is at. A fun atmosphere too. Tapas style, and no rush to eat quick and get out.
A flavour explosion! They don’t hold back on the spices and great Asian flavours. All dishes were well executed those lamb chops were perfectly cooked! Definitely will return again and again!
