Having received some publicity to say this restaurant was now under new management, and because it is within walking distance from our home, we thought we’d give it a try. We visited on a cold Saturday evening in December. We were the only people in the restaurant for dinner at 7.30pm. The restaurant was a bit chilly but just as I was commenting on this the manager appeared and put on a patio heater close to our table. We a ordered the menu du jour 3 courses at €15.50 pp. We ordered a bottle of wine, a nice Sablet at €22. The Bergerac we usually drink was out of stock. The wine was good. We were served some cold meats to start with followed by a delicious soup. Both of which were a pleasant...
My second time to this restaurant a year apart after visiting the Lascaux caves and I wasn't disappointed again. It's a good restaurant for families as the outside is quite roomy. The food is a good traditional or homemade like so it's perfect for both adults and children. I wasn't with children but I could see the little ones running around without bothering the adults. I went there twice because the pricing is right with a bonus for the setting which is really lovely outside but also well done inside. You can tell that the owners are taking a good care of their restaurant. Overall good.
We were given a leaflet to go here whilst waiting to buy tickets for Lascaux II outside the tourist office in Montignac so we thought we would try it. The waiter was great very friendly and helpful. That's where the enjoyment ended. It's a buffet style where you go and help yourself. The starter was ok, but cold meats and a bit of coleslaw was about it. The main course was chicken and vegetables. No potatoes or pasta. Really really poor. The dessert was profiteroles, fruit salad or ice cream. Very, very average food at best. It's such a shame as the setting is lovely.
Nous avons dégusté le plateau périgourdin sur la terrasse ombragé très agréable. Le plateau est composé de produits de qualités les gésiers, le jambon, le magret fumé et le foie gras sont excellents. Nous avons également apprécié les fruits de saisons. Le service est efficace et agréable. Nous avons passé un bon moment avant la visite de Lascaux IV.
