Confusingly, reviews seem to highly rate this restaurant, unfortunately our experience was dreadful. The restaurant is quite attractive and the waitress was delightful so we were anticipating a pleasant evening. However after sampling the overpriced house red wine, we were already beginning to have doubts about quality but ordered our meals anyway. Bizarrely my 4 gambas were served with a small inedible pile of tepid mashed sweet potato, layered with several grey unidentifiable vegetables and accompanied by a cold scoop of mashed potato. We settled upon this place having tried two other restaurants in the town, one supposedly being a more premium place to eat; however I can honestly say our meal was without fault. The setting is lovely by the church and we were immediately welcomed. The food was excellent, including the children’s menus. The wine list was good and the whole feel was of a well-run, relaxed family establishment. Great value for money. We shall definitely return!

Wandering around Montignac rather than eat on the river we came across this small family restaurant off a small square in the old town. Small, family run, an excellent menu du jour for value pleasant staff, dog friendly. Off season, to a quiet day well worth a visit.

Lack of everything: Lack of dishes announced on the menu, lack of correct attitude of the owner towards her customers. Lack of professionalism....
