We have been wanting to try this restaurant for some time as it had been highly recommended but couldn't get a booking so were pleased that we persevered and got a table on this occasion. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening on a busy Saturday night. Service was friendly and efficient from start to finish. BYO drinks was a bonus. There is pub with a bottleshop right across the road so no issue to buy drinks if you forget to bring your own. Our group of 3 couples had cappesante (scallops), garlic bread, pizza bread and bruschetta for starters. My friend and I had a fantastic dining experience at this cozy, family-owned restaurant on Friday night. We started with a delectable dish of seared prawns and polenta, followed by tagliatelle al pesto with chicken and sun-dried tomatoes, a Mountjoy pizza, and a Contadina salad. For dessert, we indulged in a pastry from the display case accompanied by a scoop of gelato. The food was absolutely delicious and the total bill for the three of us, including corkage, came to $97 - a great value in our opinion. This place is quite popular, so make sure to book a table if you plan to visit on a Friday or Saturday night, and be prepared for a bit of a wait for your meals.

Dined here last night for the first time. While the food was delicious the garlic bread was a total let down. The menu said 'cob loaf garlic bread '. What we were served was an aweful supermarket baguette one (and I mean the exact ones u get at the supermarket in the foil), I can 't stand those ones so don 't buy them, pretty disappointing to go to an italian place and get served something different, what 's worse is they didn 't even say sorry we 've run out of cob loaf can we get u something else, it was just dumped on our table and the waitress walked away. I 'd go here again but never order the garlic bread again. It 's just that I love my garlic bread.

In addition to their gelato, Lido also serves a nice, strong coffee and offers a good decaf option for those who prefer it. Unfortunately, the service can be inconsistent. During my last visit, the restaurant was nearly empty and the staff member seemed unenthusiastic when I asked to be served. Never a bad meal!!! Service top notch. Think authentic pizza and Italian food on a busy sidewalk cafe setting with good sized serves, great on the pocket and fantastic staff and you understand why we go every week if we can. Be warned, make a booking and save some room for gelato!

I have only ever ordered the Wellington from Lido Italia but there’s a reason for that. It’s just so good. I’m always tempted to try something else as it all looks great. But the Wellington pizza never disappoints. Lovely staff too

I never get tired of this place. All the pizzas are named after the beaches of Manly, the pasta dishes are always fresh and delicious, and the gelato is absolutely amazing. There is nothing I don't like about this restaurant!

Great pizzas. Staff are good and run off their feet when busy. Make sure you book. One of the best local eats other than Cafe La Mer.
