Don't go!We ordered Gomae which wasn't Gomae but green beans in soya sauce, utterly dull. In fairness it does state that it is beans on menu but at least try to put the seasme peanut sauce on it. Or just call it something else which it was?The roll we ordered came with a layer of brown and black avocado on top, definitely on its way to decomposing. When asked for a replacement they simple said no can do, that's all they had at the grocery store why would you serve it???Our waitress/ manager was cold and un-apologetic, and stated she would have no problem eating rotten Avocado if served, shows where her standards are.I've written tons of reviews, 99% positive, I think this is the first place...
We visited for the first time last week. Our server didn't smile at us. When I looked around the store while eating, none of the three servers in the store laughed. There was no laughter the whole time we were in the restaurant. It wasn't rude, but it didn't feel kind. We ordered a love boat and an octopus sonomono, and the sonomono was so delicious. The Love Boat was small compared to other sushi restaurants, but it was not special. It was a restaurant I really wanted to visit, but it wasn't a pleasant experience for us.
I've dined at nearly every Japanese restaurant in Lethbridge, and I must say, this one has the best tempura, along with excellent pickled ginger. The restaurant tends to be crowded on weekends, so it's a good idea to make a reservation in advance. The food is outstanding. However, our experience would have been even more enjoyable if our server hadn't smelled of cigarette smoke.
Friendly customer service from Izzy. We asked about her recommendations on the menu and she gave a few options. Green tea was hot. California Roll Rainbow Roll were fresh delicious. Prices comparable to all other sushi places in Lethbridge. Nice atmosphere. Place was full for lunch hour.Parking: Park by Galt Park and walk a block. I had the chicken super bowl and it was delicious. Vegetables were perfectly cooked and they didn't skimp on chicken or veggies either. The Gyoza were perfectly fried and the dough was not heavy but light and tasty. My colleagues had sushi and found the rice was perfect and the fish was fresh. The tempura banana for dessert was also excellent although it was a little soggy.
Food was decent but service was slow...mainly due to the never ending lineup of Skip drivers waiting at the front. The restaurant prioritized these orders leaving the dining room waiting. It took over 30 minutes to get anything...including salmon sashimi which should not take more than a few minutes to make. For the price, I think I can find better service.
**Kid-friendliness:** The atmosphere was calm with no unruly behavior between 4:30 and 5:30 PM. **Parking:** There is angled parking available on the street, just off the main street. **Wheelchair accessibility:** The restaurant features open tables and a bench around both sides, with chairs in the middle, making it easy to navigate with a wheelchair.
Excellent. So glad we finally tried it! The restaurant is cute and intimate. Food was delicious. Service was fast, professional and friendly. Good food, made fresh. I saw some other comments about portion size being small but I disagree. This was a standard portion size and I left full.It was quiet in the place tonight but the service was friendly and quick. Thank you.
