This was my third visit to this restaurant. As always, the food was delicious and the Slovenian white wine was impressive. However, I must say that the highlight of the evening was the outstanding service provided by a lovely young lady with a French accent. She was lively yet composed, attentive, and elegant. She recommended the fish dish, but I opted for the smoked lamb, which was one of the specials on offer. I have never tasted lamb so tender and flavorful! I have travelled all over the world and tried many dishes, but this one definitely ranks among the best. The Kater Pub is a perfect spot for a fun and cozy atmosphere, complete with cute decor, board games, and a great background playlist. We ordered from the £10 set lunch menu, starting with the chicken liver parfait and tomaten and chili spaghetti for the main course. My friend had the soup, which she said was incredible. I was too busy enjoying the spaghetti to remember what she had. The meal was so tasty that we couldn't resist ordering dessert. I had the apple, pear, and almond cake, which was delicious, while my friend opted for the sticky toffee pudding. Overall, we had a great meal with smiles all around, and it was surprisingly affordable for a three-course lunch.
Last Tuesday, I treated my parents to dinner at The Lion and Unicorn in Kentish Town. My father is quite picky when it comes to restaurants - he enjoys a good wine list but dislikes pretentiousness. He prefers simple, delicious food and gets annoyed when the music is too loud. Despite being part of a chain (now owned by Young's after previously being under Geronimo Inns), The Lion and Unicorn has a unique charm with its eclectic furniture, cozy fireplace, beautiful garden, and large selection of board games. The waitress informed us of the recent ownership change and assured us that the restaurant has maintained its welcoming atmosphere.
Maybe I chose the wrong thing on the menu, but the chicken and mushroom cake I got for £12 was a bit ripped off. it wasn't even a short bake, it was a ceramic dish floor and came served with cauliflower, and that's it. not sure how the price was justified, but the pub is generally quite pleasant, especially in view of the condition of the kentish town high street close. after the walk around the kentish city on a cold winter day, in the location, proper hearty meal in a cozy and warm atmosphere really put the lion unicorn as one of the best pubs in north london. had the 21 day old rump steak with seriously thick (and tasty) three times boiled chips and a cheap bottle merlot to go with it. my wife had the beetroot risotto, which was actually the surprise of the evening, earthly but slightly sweet. when I'm back in the opposite, I'll fall in 100%!
the pub was a bit cramped, but it was a Sunday afternoon. the food was incredible and the barman was friendly enough to give us a hot hot water to warm up the bottle of my sohnes. we will definitely visit again.
we have booked a table of 12 for our family christmas together at the lion unicorn. that was nice and the personal was amazing, especially our host theny. many thanks for making our night so magical!

Had a really good Sunday lunch here. It 's very much a food pub , although it didn 't seem way gastro to me and it looks like it welcomes people dropping in for a pint.
