We arrived around 3 PM on a Sunday, which turned out to be the perfect time. We sat in a cozy indoor booth, and the music created a delightful ambiance that complemented the restaurant’s beautiful decor.
I ordered the pork entree, and it was outstanding. Some of the best pork I've ever had—tender, rich, and expertly seasoned, paired wonderfully with the soft and fluffy white rice. My mother chose the popcorn chicken bento box and declared it the best fried chicken she's ever tasted. I tried a piece, and it was incredibly crunchy and juicy, seasoned to perfection. The cabbage in the bento was tender with just the right amount of crunch, and the corn and sausage were delicious.

I'm really puzzled by the low ratings for this place. Little China Cafe isn’t a trendy fusion restaurant with lavish decor, which seems to be what some reviewers were expecting. I'm here to clarify that this spot serves exactly the kind of Chinese food I crave. Even though I have a fancy Chinese restaurant right next door and live in Chinatown, I’m willing to drive 40 minutes round trip because the food here tastes how Chinese food should. My sister and I usually order the General Tso's chicken, lo mein, fried dumplings, and, of course, some delicious egg rolls. I'll keep coming back, even if they don't have fancy Tiffany gold silverware!
We're quite glad to find another authentic Taiwanese eatery in the DC area. Iron Pan Steak with black pepper gravy brought back childhood memories for me and my wife. Our kids enjoyed bento boxes just as well. Popcorn Chicken is as good as any others in the area. The Taiwanese Sausage Hamburger 大腸包小腸 was a little disappointing, though. It came sliced in pieces and took away the fun of eating two types of sausages together like a hotdog on buns.
This cafe is awesome. I had been meaning to visit here since before the covid pandemic, but finally found the time to visit it today and enjoy it. The beef noodle soup was wonderful, and the potted milk tea was both tasty and visually beautiful. I absolutely plan to come back again and enjoy more local deliciousness, and urge anyone else to do so.

I love the fried pork chop sandwiches very much, it reminds me the breakfast cafeteria in Taiwan. All the ingredients are perfect. The fry pan noodles smells so good. The beef beef popcorn is juicy and delicate. Don't forget the fried ice cream! it's evil but delicious. You can have it for the perfect ending!
The atmosphere and decor were fantastic, and the service was attentive. However, the food fell a bit flat. We ordered the tonkotsu ramen and octopus balls, and they didn’t impress. On the bright side, the monster shaved ice was delightful—I’d return just for that! Overall, I'd rate the food a 3 out of 5.
This is a dependable neighborhood takeout spot. My favorite dish is the Hunan Chicken, ordered extra spicy and without mushrooms. They tend to be rather light on spice, so be sure to request the extra heat. I've been there 25 times and have always been satisfied. It's a great value, too!
The customer service at Little China Cafe is outstanding! The chef personally called me back when I needed to modify my previous order to prepare fresh food. Thank you once again to Little China Cafe—you're the best restaurant in Washington, DC! Number one for sure!

Authentic Taiwanese casual food. We particularly liked beef noodle soup and chicken popcorn. Excellent service and cozy atmosphere.
I ordered a ribeye steak, but it was too greasy for my taste. Now I’m feeling a bit uncomfortable in my stomach.
