A fine dining experience was recommended to us at the Claremont Hotel. We showed up for our reservation and the host sat us at a two-person table between two other two-person tables. This is a very nicely decorated restaurant, and I was glad we dressed for the occasion. I was surprised that one of the people sitting next to us was in a hoodie, but you never know where they were coming from before getting dinner. It 's a national park, after all. It was immediately obvious that the menu was different from what was online. The strongest selling factor was the whole lobster that was on the sample menu. We ordered a couple of drinks and a delicious shrimp appetizer, which we raved at how good it...
Both the service and food left a bad taste in my mouth. When we arrived we were offered a place at the bar, we were not told if a table was available. The fall green salad could fit in the palm of your hand. The veal osso bucco I ordered must have been cooked to 220 degrees, it was incredibly dry. The cheesecake dessert we had was mid. What really sank this place is that the entire time we were there, my wife and I felt like we received second rate service. Don't go here, make the drive somewhere else.
This place is so cozy and beautiful, the food and drinks were incredible, and the employees were so kind. My only note is the service was pretty slow, we were there for over 2 hours so make sure you have plenty of time to enjoy :
