Little Grove Deli Carryout offers excellent crab cakes and delicious Italian dishes. We stopped by for crab cake takeout dinners and also picked up some boxed crab cakes to enjoy at home. While I personally prefer G&M's crab cakes, Little Grove’s are almost as good, featuring red peppers and a spicy kick that some of my family members like even more than G&M (which doesn’t sell frozen crab cakes). They also have great soups; we grabbed some of their tasty cream of crab soup to accompany our meal. Additionally, we purchased several hundred dollars’ worth of frozen crab cakes to share with family and friends. You can’t go wrong with the crab cakes from Little Grove.

I ordered a crab cake and a mushroom steak. The crab cake was quite large, but I’m not sure why this part of Maryland adds pimento to their crab cakes—it’s a bit off-putting to me, though it seems to be a very local preference. Traditional Maryland crab cakes don’t include pimento. The mushroom steak was excellent, served on a fresh, soft roll with plenty of mushrooms. The fries were also very crispy. The location offers a hot food buffet at lunchtime but doesn’t have seating. Payment is by the pound. They have a small selection of spirits, mostly basic options, nothing special.
Staff wore gloves. Touched the phone, cash register and walkin fridge door handle and did not change gloves when touching food to prepare. They need to be educated on food prep. Lady litterely answered the phone and then picked up ham with the same glovesto make a Italian coldcut. Man no better he used cash register while making crab cake platter. Beware...they wear gloves buttouch everything including your food.One person should cook and the other take orders and answer the phone so not to contaminatethe food. Got a crab cake and a mushroom steak. Crab cake was very big. I'm not so sure of why this area of MD puts pimento in the crab cakes. It's kinda gross to me but it seems to be a micro local thing. Real MD crabcakes do not have pimento. Mushroom steak wasspot on. Fresh, soft roll and plenty of mushrooms. Fries too. They were very crispy. Location has a hot food buffet for lunchtime but no sit down. Pay by lb. Small selection of spirits. Nothing remarkable. Just basics on the spirits.

My only recommendation is that the staff at the registers receive additional training on how to handle electronic payments. Just a reminder, Google Pay is accepted here. It might be beneficial for the team to review the instructions or watch a tutorial provided by the manufacturer of the point-of-sale system.

Food is always fresh and wonderful. The only criticism I have is that any employee behind a register aught to be trained on how electronic payments work. FYI, you do accept GPay. Reading the instructions/ watching a video from the manufacturer of yourP.O.S. terminal will be beneficial.

I’ve been coming here for over 10 years. The crab cake special is incredible—a must-try if you’re a fan of jumbo crab cakes.
This is an excellent place for lunch! The hot dishes were scrumptious, and the salad bar was outstanding.
