Our appetizers were excellent and nuanced, especially a spicy broccoli roll that was over-the-top (we heard there was a new person preparing the sushi and he gets a gold star. We asked if he was married ; Noodle bowl- two of us ordered it- on the other hand, was one note, oily and disappointing. A friend loved her entree which was salmon. We like LIV and will be back. Perhaps the noodle bowl was prepared by someone less experienced? In any case we loved our server and the atmosphere and will be back.
We ordered 6 dishes plus desert. 4 of the apps/mains were excellent (Cod dumplings, BBQ Pork dumplings, tempura squash and my favorite the Chicken Karaage bowl) with only a couple of them being just shy of the mark (the Tuna Wonton tacos were flat tasting). We shared the chocolate torte with mousse among the four of us and it was an excellent way to finish the meal. The food couldn’t quite get 5 stars, but certainly a 4.5 star performance by the chefs
We had four different servers and waited over 40 minutes just for our appetizers. However, the food was absolutely wonderful, which made the wait worthwhile. The only downside was the draft that came in every time the door opened; a few small heaters would have really helped. Overall, it was the best Asian food I’ve ever had in Newfoundland, and next time, I’ll just make sure to dress warmer! It was incredibly delicious!
The atmosphere at LIV is amazing. The food and service is even better. Food came out quickly, was fresh and flavorful and to temperature. Sushi roll was the best sushi I've had in the province hands down. Adrian is wonderful and attentive. He offers up cocktail suggestions, explains the menu thoroughly, and is so friendly and easy to interact with. Would highly recommend! Can't wait to go back!

Inventive and delicious food our favourite was the tuna wonton tacos, but the cod dumplings were a close second. Lovely cocktails. We had an amazingly constructed dessert (chocolate tree on a cheesecake base with cotton candy leaves . Service was impeccable.
I highly recommend LIV. The hot and sour soup was outstanding—definitely the best I've ever had, and I've tried many! The tempura squash was also incredibly delicious. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely as well.
