Lone Spur Grill & Bar

A nice, neighborhood bar and grill serving good wings and decent drinks. Service is good and friendly, nothing fancy about this place but it was fairly busy for a Friday night and best of all, they have 2 for 1 drinks from 7 9 pm every day. Their happy hour menu also looked like a pretty good deal, so I might have to venture back to Minnetonka to check it out some time. I was kind of craving a burger but you notice there two of the nightly specials they have are for chicken wings so I ordered the Moppo Wings, which seems to be a specialty. The restaurant has a strong, unpleasant smell that brings to mind vomit and dirty cheese. The walls are painted in unattractive colors reminiscent of urine, and the artwork depicting Mexican stereotypes adds to the gloomy atmosphere. The kitchen often closes early due to a lack of staff, leading to a noticeable decrease in the quality of food following the pandemic. The food now resembles something you might find at a gas station, which is disappointing given the prices. The service is handled by staff who appear visibly frustrated and disheartened, despite being friendly to customers. Overall, dining at this restaurant is quite depressing.

I only popped in for a quick beer while waiting for my wife to finish her dental appointment next door. We arrived right when they opened and took advantage of the 2:1 special until 4. The bar only had about 6-7 stools, but there were also tables and booths in the surrounding area. The bartender was fantastic and the food smelled delicious. I'll have to make sure to allow more time for a meal during my next visit.

This restaurant has been established for a long time, with a very friendly manager running the place. It is a wonderful local establishment, and they have shown support for the Hopkins High School theater program, which is located nearby. The wait staff is exceptionally kind, which is why I often opt for takeout from here.
