We had seen this restaurant before as we've traveled the highway. We were going to be passing it on our way home from Cleveland, TX and it was way past lunch time and we were hungry so we decided to stop and give them a try. Our food was terrible.. my husband got the fried fish, and I got chicken fried steak. Mash potatoes were instant, which is disgusting. Both of our entrees were soggy. Was not offered anything after telling then that we thought it was terrible and wouldn't eat it. Will not go bk to this place.. the only positive thing I can say is the lady that served us was really sweet even thigh she wouldn't try and help us with the terrible food situation, didn't even offer an apology.. Went here this past weekend. The food was ok, but the service and atmosphere were not good. Our waitress(Tonya) was rude and acted irritated to serve my family. If she doesn't like serving people then maybe she should find a different profession. I felt uncomfortable here. As soon as we got there many people were staring at us. We ordered 4 burgers and the burger was BURNT. They were so burnt that the meat was crispy. We sent them back and ended up waiting a total of 1.5 hours for burgers. I absolutely love Charlie's liver and onions, as well as their green beans! The service is fantastic too!
I will need to go back again, but my breakfast tacos were over cooked so dry. The waitress was very good.
