I hadn't visited this restaurant in a while because the staff had become unfriendly, but I decided to give it another chance yesterday because the food has always been excellent. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that there was new management in place. The young women running the restaurant were very welcoming to all customers and always willing to help other staff members. Despite knowing how stressful the industry can be, the staff were attentive and professional. The food was even better than I remembered, and was the perfect way to end a long week. the first visit was very good, even with the nelson that offers a limited menu for food. now they have opened this and it makes a difference. the rich is much bigger and the quality is so good. although the driveway is a little tricky because of overparked cars, there is a small parking dedicated to him pub. it has a large attractive garden area. in the interior it is organized with good seating and decor. the employees are very friendly and efficient even in busy times. above all eating is good over the average pub food with best ads to go to gastro. yet one way to go there, but I wish them to work well to make food a central and important quality element. highly recommended.
Turned up without a reservation on Sunday, had to wait 15 minutes (enjoyed the sunshine in the garden with a pint of Camden) but they soon got a table for us. We all had the beef alongside a recommended bottle of malbec by the young girl serving us, all was excellent, beef was nice and pink with a giant Yorkshire pudding. We shared a sticky toffee pudding and a lemon posset which were delightful and very indulgent. Whilst the pub was busy we didn't feel rushed. We will be returning soon!
We booked our table on the Pubs' own website. On arrival there was no table. Fortunately, the waitress found a table and we were quickly seated. We only ordered the main Sunday meal 1 beef 1 chicken. Where we were seated, we had a view into the kitchen were one of the cheif's was eating bits of food while serving food. Not sure if its a legal requirement, but the chief didn't wear a beard net at any time. Food was ok but the overall experience was poor
I was invited to a party in the marquee at the weekend and I had never been here before and I was amazed by the service. There was welcome drinks on arrival which was amazing. We had pizzas and chips and gravy which were absolutely delicious. There was a lovely atmosphere all evening. I’ve booked in to come and try there famous Sunday lunch which I can’t wait for!
I’ve heard great things about this place from friends that have been before so I thought I’d come and try it. I came in for a Sunday roast. I had the roast beef and side of cauli cheese and it was absolutely outstanding. Everything was perfectly cooked. Service was amazing and the atmosphere was fitting for the autumn day. I shall be returning in the near future
I've been very recently separated here and I've been very underwhelmed. the quality of food left much to wish and the performance of the staff must also be improved. I think there are some training questions that have to deal with the very young and seemingly inexperienced staff, which was in service in the night we took part in.
I absolutely love The Nelson. The food quality is fantastic and I always come back here. It's the best pub food we've ever had and I recommend it to anyone. The location is perfect for a walk after your meal, so don't miss out!
My companions and I came for lunch and ordered the fish and chips as well as the chicken with broccoli. We absolutely loved the homemade bread and olives, they were delicious. We highly recommend trying them!
