If you have ever dreamed of spending a night at a Swiss mountain hut, you should be tempted to visit Lotschenpass Hutte. The location at the top of the pass is breathtaking. There are also short hikes available to some peaks. The hut is extremely clean, the food is fantastic, and the staff is very helpful - in a Swiss sort of way. We went with our two boys - ages 12 & 10 in July 2016. Our bunk room had beds for 12 but we had a bit of separation between us and adjoining bunks - which didn't seem like the case in pictures we saw of other huts. Dies ist eine Alpenhütte, aber das Essen ist so gut wie das eines ausgezeichneten städtischen Gastronomiebetriebs! Das Rindfleisch, das ich hatte, war so zart wie Honig und so schmackhaft wie ein Nachmittag im duftenden Maquis der Provence, ein Rindfleisch, das im Mund schmolz. Die Suppe war würzig und ihr Rezept geheim. This is an alpine hut, but the food is as good as that of an excellent urban gastronomical establishment! The beef I had was as tender as honey and as tasty as an afternoon in the spicy maquis of Provence - a beef that melted in the mouth. The soup was savorous and its recipe secret. It's a place definitively worth coming just for the food (a two hours easy mountain trek from the nearby Wiler-Lauchernalp cable car), to tell nothing of the sceenery over the Swiss Alps! Eine weitere Oase in den Bergen. Ziemlich belebt, sehr freundliches Personal, echte frische Lebensmittel, Suppen und Röstis. Schöne Sonnenterrasse, auch Unterkünfte vorhanden. Auf jeden Fall die Wanderung wert, auch wenn es an einigen Stellen etwas schwierig wird. Ich bin einen anderen Weg über die Kummenalp gegangen. Ein wunderschöner Spaziergang über das Berggasthaus.
After a nice hike from the Kandersteg along the Gasterental and then until the Lötschenpass I finally came to the hut. The staff was very nice, the cottage and the rooms very clean and dinner and breakfast very good! Sure, I'll go back and bring friends. The...view is incredible and it is a great base to make some hikes the next day (such as Hockenhorn).
Ich war so froh, diese große Hütte mitten im Nirgendwo zu sehen. Ein herzlicher, freundlicher Empfang, heiße Gemüsesuppe mit Würstchen und ein fantastischer Käsekuchen. Alles wie zu Hause gemacht. Was für eine Belohnung; was für ein Vergnügen. Ich würde Michelin-Sterne geben!
Versteckt in Kandersteg über Nacht. Freundliches Personal, saubere Zimmer, familienfreundliche Speisen. Unglaublicher Nachthimmel, fantastische Aussicht. Fantastischer Zwischenstopp während Ihrer Wanderung. Sehr zu empfehlen. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
I have stayed at this Hutte many times. Food is magnificent. The folks who work there are equally magnificent. There is a grumpy dog, friendly cats and friendly pig. Be sure to take a flash light if staying over night
