Starting with the best points: portions are generous, one young, casual waitress was nice and attentive, table was quite nicely set, clean. BUT: apart of the above mentioned waitress ( probably a part-timing schoolgirl) the 'boss' who appeared to be in charge of the dining room was indifferent, not-welcoming, uprupt and seemingly disorganised. While service was relatively fast, the food arrived luke-warm. 'Crispy pork with plum sauce' appeared as it was pre-cooked, chewy and dry, plum sauce wasn't plum but rather sweet and sour. 'Crispy chicken with lemon sauce' was also pre-cooked, dry and instead of lemon sauce with a small dish of spiced salt. We asked for lemon sauce and we got it eventu...
If you have been turned off this place in the past, take another look. We dined there as our usual was closed and the food has really improved. We had lamb pancakes for entree followed by shared dishes including Duck Hong Kong style and a few staples (garlic prawns, satay chicken., etc) All meals were first rate and a big improvement on the so so meals we have enjoyed on and off with the family over the last 30 years. Don't expect too much in the way of ambiance. The decor has not changed since our first visit in 1985 and the menus must be 10 years old. This place is back on our list.

The place is your average local Chinese takeaway. The host is lovely and it seems to be family owned. If you are dining in, you will be looked after very well. The restaurant itself is very old and dated. The menu is typical of takeaway shops and does not provide any particular specially. The food is good, not great, and affordable.

It was a nice meal at the Lotus Garden. The waitresses were very polite and ready to assist and the food was very nice also. For a casual night or a birthday, the Lotus Garden is a great place for it. The ambience was very calming and peaceful which is always a review booster in my books.
Got delivery. Gross. Ended up in bin. Lamb was terrible, stringy, chewy and full of fat. Everything else was under whelming. Same issues a couple of years ago, thought we would try it again and nothing has changed. Avoid.
This place is old fashioned in that it's like it hasn't changed in the last 20 years which to me is a good thing. I really enjoyed the sweet and sour pork and the beef and black bean. I will be going back!
Service was average but the lamb pancakes and the sweet and sour pork were both tasty and reasonably priced. Will return again as its local.

Sweet and sour pork was the best of the dishes we ordered. Service was quite slow. Seemed to focus on takeaway which was disappointing.
For a local Chinese this is one of the better ones, it's hidden away but worth it over other local alternatives
