One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had, and I didn’t even plan to dine there. I came in on a Sunday around 2pm after studying next door at Kaldi’s. The place was not busy at all but I somehow waited an hour and 15 minutes for a to-go chicken club and fries. I overheard the waitstaff apologizing to other guests in the restaurant the entire time, responding to complaints about food time, waiting at tables without anyone ever coming to bring menus or drinks, forgetting about guests they had at tables outside, ordered drinks never arriving to the table, and food not tasting as great as it “usually is.” Good on the staff for apologizing in general, but I’ve worked in restaurants for years a...
I love the look, feel and service I get at this location the food and soft drinks though?They really do need some help.The mix on the carbonation of their drinks is regularly just not up to par. I really enjoy the burgers which are hot and fresh, but in our last visit, I stepped outside of the burger vein to get: The Fish Chips.These were four fish sticks at best with tator tots, for $19+. This really does need to be looked at in regard not only to the quality of the fish, but what is actually given. It was my first time at the Bar Louie in Kirkwood. We had a great time and experience at this location, much better than the Chesterfield location experience, which is closer to our house. I think it was so much better because of our bartender Kelsey. She was so great and so much fun! She checked on us regularly, made sure our drinks were never empty (which is a hard job when it comes to my husbands drinking), and was very knowledgeable of the menu. We will definitely make the extra drive to Kirkwood just so she can be our bartender!
I don't ever leave reviews but the service was crappy. I'm a waitress I can sympathize and understand but when I tell you there was mabey 7 tables between inside and outside all together I'm not being dramatic. Took 30 min for food to come out (very basic simple things, dip, nachos, wings) took 15 for our drinks to come out. Had to go inside and ask for our check and boxes. I'm thoroughly not impressed. We live next door and so want this to be our go to place. Unfortunately, each time we try to give them a try the bar is dirty, the staff is inattentive, they are out of what we want or some combination of all of the above.What we experience each visit is a reflection of the leadership of this establishment. We have to assume those in charge don’t care and, hence, those who work there feel the same.It continues to be a sad place and that is unnecessary and so unfortunate.
Service was ok, very slow. We order an appetizer of fried pickles. Worst fried pickles ever, there was more fried breading in the basket than pickles, and the pickles were soaked in grease. We decided to just pay our tab and leave instead of getting dinner. Numerous customers around us seemed discruntled as well. I think it's a hard pass with the other options around the area.
This restaurant has significantly declined over the past couple of years! The service and food are both terrible. The tables were dirty, and there was a lot of trash in the seating area. The waitstaff were nowhere to be found. The food was cold and unappetizing! This used to be our favorite spot, but not anymore. We are extremely disappointed!
