We have been going to Magic Sushi regularly since it opened years ago but this most recent visit will be our last. I'm not sure if it's under new management or staff but what a disappointment! In the past, portions were generous, sushi filling was plentiful, and it was clean. At dinner tonight, my cup had hot pink lipstick stains on it from the previous guest and when staff was informed they didn't seem to care at all, not even an apology; the salad with noodles was literally half the size it usually is, unappetizing presentation, had no crab and nasty slimy noodles; the wonton soup was mostly vegetables and only 1 tiny wonton; the mushroom tempura has been reduced to literally THREE mushroo...
Sushi's never been inexpensive so you have to understand that if it's all you can eat for less than twenty dollars it's not going to be quite as good as one of the pricier sushi restaurants.I've noticed an improvement in the attitudes of the staff, more effort into the decor, the small and inexpensive feeling building seems to be very clean and well kept.The food itself is somewhere in the grocery store sushi quality range. Some items better, some worse. Ultimately you have to know what to order and considering it's all you can eat, you're not really going to go wrong.:)
Ate lunch here today with a girlfriend. People had been telling me to try it for a while and i can't say i was disapointed. Went in to the small non-descript restaurant and was quickly seated. The menu and order forms are on the table and you write down your order yourself. They bring you water and pick up the slip pretty quickly. After that the food was brought (tempura was a small order, but we were sharing everything so that was ok) and we ordered 3 rolls to share. Really yummy! 14$ for lunch and we were in and out in less than an hour. I'll definitely be back. :)
We went on a recommendation. will not use his recommendations again.Over half the menu is extra charges. Here the sashimi and soups are all very expensive extras. Rest of food is rice and panko and some fish or shrimp or whatever thrown in as an after thought. I see why they have signs about wasting food, and extra charges if you leave food on your plate. You are paying a high price for rice and seaweed.

My friends and I've gone to Magic Sushi for a very first time this evening. The service is terrible all around, the food took so long to come out to our table. We didn't tip because there is poor service. The waitress is always irritated and did not show any customer service at all. We don't think we'll ever come back to this restaurant since there are so many better sushi places in Winnipeg.
I work down the street from the restaurant and from outside it doesn't look the greatest place. I decided to take a chance for a quick lunch and placed an order for pick up. I ordered 2 chicken teriyaki rolls and when I picked it up there was 20 pieces and it was less then $9.00! The chicken was a bit small in it but it wasn't horrible. I will definitely order from here again.
We were just here again and the food was good, it is not high end sushi but it is really good and you can't beat the price. The service was not friendly at all but it was fast and efficient. If you can get past the fact that the server is not happy at all to serve you then you can enjoy your meal. If you go here try the sushi pizza, it is one of the better ones I have had.
We love going to Magic Sushi. From the outside it is not that impressive but the inside is cute and comfortable and clean. The food is good, the sushi pizza is one of the best I have had. The prices are not high at all. Service is fast and efficient. We are always in and out in less than an hour which is great.

This is a small non descript place. The ambiance is something to be desired. The sushi is great. Good variety. You can also get tempura. You will be charged for any leftovers. Whatever you order you eat.
