We always felt that the day was entirely ours, and no concern was too big or too small to address—even if we thought it was a bit silly. Everyone took the time to listen and guide us whenever we had uncertainties. On the wedding day, I woke up feeling incredibly relaxed, thanks to Antonia. She had reassured me multiple times that it was her job to ensure everything ran smoothly and all I needed to do was relax and enjoy myself. It was a true gift to have someone working tirelessly behind the scenes, who understood my vision and made it all come to life. Sam and I got married here on Friday 11th May and it simply was the best day ever. From the point of initial enquiry to the day itself, the wedding team were superb. No tasks too small, no question too silly. Antonia and Stacey really looked after us and were very accomodating with our random/special requests. Stacey even drove into Belper the morning of the wedding to get a security tag taken off a Groomsmen 's shoe! The woodland gardens is the perfect place to say 'I Do ' and a great location to capture beautiful wedding photos. An extra special touch for us was to have our beloved dog Hunter present on the day. Thank you once again for a truly magical day and we can 't wait to visit over...
Yesterday, July 10th, I had a wonderful dining experience with my two daughters. The food was absolutely delicious, featuring a fantastic selection of sandwiches and warm savory items, including mini quiches, sausage rolls, and creamy carrot soup. We also enjoyed a delightful assortment of cakes, such as brownies, lemon peach cake, macarons, lemon and olive oil cake, and scones, all accompanied by plenty of tea and jam. The staff were lovely—friendly and attentive. This place is definitely worth a visit!
We had a short getaway at the hotel earlier this month and were really impressed with our experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent. There was a great selection for breakfast, with everything fresh and hot. For dinner, I highly recommend the steak—it was fantastic. Lovely grounds, pleasant staff, room lovely, a bit tired but nice, food (what can I say) absolutely amazing, we had dinner on Saturday night had two courses, chicken liver parfait and salmon was fantastic, Steve had smoked salmon then steak, could not fault it was very tasty and plentiful.
Booked a quick getaway. So very impressed, staff helpful, food lovely even though we arrived late, room just gorgeous, clean and so very welcoming. It's a real jewel in Derbyshire's historic crown. A truly romantic, wonderful place. We shall be booking again.
Got married here in 2015 and have been back for both our 1st and 2nd anniversaries and planning to go back for our 3rd. An absolutely fantastic hotel with great staff and wonderful service which I would whole heartedly recommend to anyone.

Absolutely beautiful. The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The food was beautiful and the place itself is just lovely. I highly recommend this as a wedding venue. Brilliant
