I am really surprised to see all the negative reviews for Makis Yiros. Over the years I have made several trips to Adelaide and I have also had yiros from Makis, and on each occassion he has given me some of the best yiros I have had in Adelaide. It's true that the owner is a little quirky but I think he's an older guy with a bit of personality. I ordered a lamb yiro from Makis with tabouli and a small container tzatziki for a very late lunch. As usual Makis yiros had more meat than a Souvlaki bros yiro and wasn't drowned in sauce (I do prefer the bread at Souvlaki bros though). It tasted as a yiro should with crispy lamb and fresh salad. Owner needs a lesson in hygiene. Disgusting service received. Biting into my yiros and tasting a mouthful of onions when I specifically asked for none was not pleasant. When I took it back to let the owner know he was immediately aggressive and accused me of not asking for no onions. I can't believe I was being attacked for supposedly not asking for onions, I definitely did not feel safe in this store The owner chucked my food into the bin continuing to insist it was my mistake. Due to his aggression and the way I was being treated I asked for my money back only to be denied this while the owner insisted I had to have a new one. Absolute worst experience I have ever had. I have never written a bad review in my life, but this nightmare has inspired me. 1. Awful service, incredibly rude. 2. Dry chicken and lamb, served with stale chips and maybe a table spoon of garlic sauce at best. (Be prepared to ask for sauce otherwise you won't get any) 3. Four days of food poisoning, and just general disbelief. 4. Highly overpriced. A yiros pack will set you back $20. Smallest one I've ever had too. Don't go to Makis Glenelg. Wouldn't bother.. I bought a yiros from here tonight and it was absolutely horrible. It was cold, seemed half cooked, and had no onion Also, the service was appalling, the owner (or some old dude with an attitude problem) was insisting that a girl in front of me ordered incorrectly, talking extremely aggressively to her and refusing to give her money back. When she finally got it back off him however, she was told never to come back, and to tell her friends the same I'd avoid it, souvlaki bro's is around the corner and they're epic.
The worst fish and chips I have eaten in my 6 years living in Australia. Fish grilled on the same hot plate as the beef and lamb. The small portion of fish tasted of meat and burnt oil. The service was chaotic and we had to beg for a plastic fork, no seasoning was offered or serviettes. I asked for a salad and even through there were plentiful on view, I was refused saying he had no salad. Clearly he wanted the salad for kebabs etc. The owner was abrupt and rude to us. I would never return to this venue again.

Small serve and expensive. But not much else open at the time we wanted something to eat. Didn't taste bad but I would prefer to eat elsewhere given the option. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
they do not know about the owner, but the donna kebab was super, exactly the same nice wise the good old person that served us.
