Best Italian joint I’ve ever been to! The food was phenomenal and service was speedy. We even had my special needs brother with us who can only eat puréed food and drink milk and the owner sent someone out to get milk for him from the store and made a custom puréed meal for him. In the 19 years of my brothers life, we’ve never had someone offer to custom make his food so that he could eat with us as well, it really touched my heart and made out stay in Richmond that much better. Stand up restaurant with phenomenal staff and service.Kid-friendliness: Had activities and cotton candy for kiddosDietary restrictions: Custom made my brothers meal for his dietary needs.
I wanted to like this place... The food was good but the service when I went was sub par. There was 2 servers and someone hosting but somehow they got confused as to who was waiting on our table. We waited up to 45min (only 2 other parties) while watching both servers pass us without asking if we were being helped. Finally we went up to order like takeout- but for here and the person got frustrated. Ordered the Lasagna and Alfredo but somehow ended up with a veggie pizza and our pasta. They did not offer a discount for the wait or the wrong item. Its a small business and thats why its not getting less than 4 stars.
we traveled through richmond and my wife wanted to eat Italian for lunch. we found maldinis on google and decided to try it. the atmosphere and the eating are definitiv italian. the customer service was very good and accommodating. that explains 17 years in business at the same location. my wife had the chicken happy and it was great. the pasta mades definitiw as if it were homemade. I had spaghetti ragu and it was also very good. we only go through thru...but if we ever thru again and it is midday, we will make sure we visit Maldini.
I think this is a best kept secret for south of the river places to eat. Super great Italian food! We ate there last night, a table of six and everyone loved their dish. More than just traditional Italian, they have specialty dishes as well. I had the Agnolotti pasta (spinach, artichoke and ricotta stuffed pasta with a mushroom sauce). Sooooo goooood!!! Great food, full bar, great wine list and super nice waitstaff. This place will be on our regular out to eat rotation from here on out.

Comped the veggie lasagna because it kind of sucked— seems like they have another complaint about the lasagna. Also ordered a shrimp fat diavolo, which was mediocre, but tails were still on the shrimp despite being deshelled. Really good bread but our pasta dishes weren’t good. Thank you for comping it but we probably won’t be back.Food: 2/5
one of the best Italian restaurants in the city! eating is top notch, service professional and fast, and overall experience nothing short of excellent. our server, ashley, was fantastic to help, and deserves definitiw also a scream. try the house pavilions, they will not be disappointed!
amazing eating and super nice customer service! I was very impressed by the young man who took my call and worked the cash today. he was very polite and enthusiastic, the most refreshing young person I've met for a long time. also auberginenparm was over and beyond, we will come back.
this place has delicious Italian cuisine and great atmosphere for a lunch on a weekday. pizza had fresh cripples, mozzarella and artichokes. the chicken-alfredo is not her average box-alfredo, it must touch by italien splash. highly recommended and the staff is great.

Ate at this fantastic restaurant tonight. Wonderful Italian food, beautiful old world Italy atmosphere. We had a great Italian waiter, wish I knew his name. Definitely would highly recommend to people who appreciate great Italian food in lovely area.
