After a long week of clearing out my late aunt's house in Toccoa, my wife and I decided to take a day off in Clayton to relax. We had dinner at Mama G’s based on a recommendation from the bartender at Currahee Brewing, and it was absolutely incredible. As someone who is 25% Italian and an experienced Italian cook, I can genuinely say that the food at Mama G’s is exceptional. I’m not sure how they source their fresh ingredients or where they got their traditional recipes, but everything they serve is fantastic. The service was also outstanding, so I happily left a 40% tip—it was well deserved. If you’re in Clayton and looking for a great place to eat, Mama G’s is definitely the spot to visit....
I dined in for lunch, and I had a fantastic experience! The food was exceptional, earning a solid 5 out of 5—I'd highly recommend the Chicken Alfredo. The service also deserves a perfect score of 5; the staff was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was delightful, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal, so I’d rate that a 5 as well. Parking was a breeze with plenty of free parking available. Overall, for a price range of $30 to $50 per person, this place is definitely worth a visit!
I must say there is a great reason why this place is packed on Saturday. We chose to do take out and still very pleased with service and time. The rolls are excellent and a must try! I ordered chicken shrimp Alfredo with a ceaser salad. The chicken was a little tuff but overall the meal was great. The shrimp were large and plentiful. The salad was a great portion but the dressing was a bit spicy. We will definitely be back to sit down when we have more time!
We had a big group of 18, and after a day of river rafting, we were all really hungry! The garlic rolls were absolutely delicious! All the meals came out at the same time, hot and tasty! I loved my lobster ravioli with Alfredo sauce, while my husband enjoyed the special ribeye with potatoes and broccoli. The kids had pizza, and we were all stuffed! The service was excellent; they kept our orders organized and were able to bill each family separately.

The service, food quality, and atmosphere all received a score of 4 out of 5. Expect to spend about $20 to $30 per person. Highly recommended!

Today was the first time my family and I had the pleasure of visiting Mama G's. Our waiter was Ivan and he was so attentive and respectful. The food was great. Would recommend a try.
