Mario’s a local Italian eatery that has mastered the classics in welcoming and relaxed setting. The restaurant is popular with a busy lunch and bar. You will find a steady mix of personal and business related lunches. I have visited the establishment twice and both times I have gone with the Chicken milanese which happens to be one of my favorite Italian dishes. Not many restaurants execute this simple dish right, but Mario’s does it perfectly with a well executed tender chicken cutlet served with a delicious arugula salad on top. Everything comes together with perfection. For those who enjoy the Italian classics, Mario’s is the perfect place to visit if you live or work in the Union area.
The dining experience, while anticipated to impress, unfortunately fell short in some areas. A delightful surprise was the mini sorbet cones served after the prima corza, which added a charming touch to the meal. However, this was somewhat overshadowed by the dismissive attitude of our server, who seemed to make assumptions based on a perceived accent when spoken to in a foreign language. The portions were generous, typical of American-Italian cuisine, and the freshness of the dishes was evident, as they arrived after a noticeable wait. While my family enjoyed the meal overall, I found the flavors to be somewhat bland and uninspiring, despite the ample servings.
Mario's Tutto Bene in Union on Chestnut St. is a great place to try. Good quality family style food served all the time. My wife and I shared the stuffed artichoke and stuffed mushrooms in marsala sauce as an appetizer. Along with rolled stuffed chicken with spinach and mozzarella. Great meal all around.

This was a nice little spot. I went here with a group of 10 after work. We each had a drink and a bite to eat. Everything was delicious and service was great.
This place is amazing from the staff to the food and everyone is so nice. My only complaint, be prepared to deal with other customers that are loud and rude.
