Markie's Montreal Smoked Meat

We have ordered takeout from Markie's many times and have always been satisfied with our meals. Our go-to orders are the club roll (a sandwich with deli meats) and occasionally a smoked meat sandwich. However, on October 21, 2023, my wife went to pick up two club rolls but ended up with two club sandwiches instead. After calling to report the mistake, we spoke to the server Jessica who seemed to have mixed up our order with another customer's and refused to acknowledge her error. This was disappointing, but we plan to visit soon to claim the two free club rolls promised to us.

Having been born and raised in Montreal where I lived for half of my life, I did not think that I would find a smoke meat even close to anything from home. BUT I was wrong, this well kept Ottawa secret serves all their food starting w/ the smoke meat to the fries, and coleslaw always fresh and melt in your mouth delicious. Always enjoy chatting w/ the staff watching the ongoing 'Just for Laughs Gags; brings back fond MTL memories keeps me in stiches. The food venue are next to none. Always leave with a smile from Markie 's :

I stopped by for a sandwich tonight and it was amazing! The meat was juicy and fresh, and I had it on toasted rye bread. The staff is fantastic, funny, and eager to please. I recommended this place to a friend who said the best smoked meat sandwiches were in Montreal. She has since been to Markie's on Carling multiple times and now agrees that you don't need to go to Montreal for a great sandwich. I love this place! Plenty of parking available.

I just used Skip the Dish to have delivered. Club sandwich to the Civic Hospital. Very disappointed. The chicken was disgusting. It was so rubbery I couldn’t even bit through it. I had to take it off the sandwich and pitch it. The restaurant also sent NO napkins, NO cutlery, and NO condiments (ketchup, salt, pepper). I guess people in hospitals are suppose to eat with their fingers. For $30.00 not worth the money. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

My new go-to for smoked meat! Meat was so tender, fries were perfect and the pickle was dillicious! Lots to choose from on the menu if smoked meat isn't your thing. Reasonably priced. A few tables for dining in. We keep returning to Markie's because of the excellent service and tasty food! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but we strongly suggest trying the fish and chips or the smoked meat club platter. The gravy is also outstanding, so make sure to add it to your meal or order a poutine. Thank you, Markie's for a great dining experience!

I’ve always been a big fan of Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwiches with the meat piled high. Very good sandwich and very cheap for what you get. Only $12 for an 8oz meat sandwich, which they could very well charge $14-15 for these days. Solid place, will definitely come again!

Found this place on Trip Advisor and we were really pleased with our choice. The smoked meat sandwich was excellent! Generous amount of smoked meat and the rye was so fresh. Fried were excellent as well. Prices reasonable. Highly recommend Markies Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

The smoked meat is unreal. Best sandwichs around for sure and the poutine is incredible, honestly smoked meat aside they are my new poutine spot !

Their smoke meat plates are very good. I thought I would try the smoke meat poutine, it was just ok. Maybe it's better when dining in.
