Delightful! They truly are masters of the noodle! Hand pulled and shaved fresh noodles prepared as you watch. The fried pork dumplings were tender and flavorful. We had two of their signature soups: Lanzhou Shaved Noodle soup with big chunks of beef in a light beef flavor broth with a slightly sweet taste likely five spice. The shaved noodles were perfectly cooked and thick. Unlike anything you would normally have.The Chongqing spicy noodle soup was the perfect amount of spicy. The food was decent. I particularly enjoyed the woodear mushroom appetizer, and the cucumber was quite good as well. However, I found the Taiwanese tomato beef noodle soup to be just average. More than half of the beef in my soup was made up of cartilage and inedible hard pieces, which was quite disappointing. The service was a bit frustrating, too. Our waitress was handling three tables, including ours, but she seemed preoccupied with chatting at one of the other tables, resulting in a long wait just to take our order. Overall, I probably wouldn’t be inclined to return here.
Incredible food and fantastic noodles! They handcraft their noodles, and you can actually watch the cooks rolling out the dough. I ordered the Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles and the Mongolian Beef Fried Noodles, both of which were absolutely delicious. They provide a QR code that you can scan with your phone to view the menu, which features pictures of each dish—a great visual touch! Got the braised egg and pork, chicken and mushroom noodle soup, and Taiwanese tomato beef brisket noodle soup. 1. Braised egg and pork I liked how the pork was tender. Loved the depth of flavor. Chicken and mushroom noodle soup 2. Loved how manymushrooms were in it! The noodles were nice and chewy. The broth was a little bland, but there's condiments on the table to makeit taste better (of which I didn't use but wish I did) 3. For dinner for two, including two entrees, one appetizer, and a tip (without drinks), the total was just $40. The portion sizes are generous—perfect for taking home leftovers. We ordered the house fried rice, Lanzhou noodle soup, pan-fried dumplings, and steamed beef dumplings. The waitress gave us the right utensils and provided water immediately. Even though the service was a bit slow, we had a fantastic time. The dumplings are a must-try! I really appreciated the soy sauce and vinegar offered as dipping sauces. The beef in the noodle soup was delicious—thinly sliced and full of flavor.
Food was okay ish, the bummer was service. This is pretty popular restaurant and when we were served food they did not come back to us, we needed forks and spoons and they were busy giving orders out to take away people, who were waiting for their orders for pretty long. I ordered the Shanxi shaved noodle soup, and overall, it was decent. However, the noodles were too thin and lacked chewiness; I would have preferred them to be a bit chewier. The soup itself had a good flavor, though. We also shared the beef burritos, which were fantastic!
