We arrived around 5 PM on a Friday without a reservation, and we were fortunate to get seated right away on the patio, which was lovely on such a nice day. Although there wasn’t a children’s menu, they kindly offered a smaller portion of pasta for my son, who ordered penne with red sauce. It was a kid-friendly option and very straightforward. I absolutely loved the sauce! We were also served complimentary bread with garlic olive oil, which was fantastic. This restaurant has truly checked all the boxes for an authentic Italian dining experience. We enjoyed the delicious warm bread with roasted garlic in olive oil for dipping. Unfortunately, we didn't capture any pictures because we were busy enjoying the cozy and intimate atmosphere. We started with some charcuterie and a few glasses of wine, and the tartare was excellent and traditional. The Panino Al Pollo with garlic fries was absolutely delicious. The sandwich bread was exceptional, and overall it was a satisfying meal with plenty of food. However, we didn't receive the salmon with the Caesar al Salmone. After contacting DoorDash, they offered a $3 credit for the missing salmon, which left us feeling a bit slighted. The Pollo al Marsala came in a generous portion as well. While it was tasty, it wasn't the best I've ever had. I prefer my chicken pounded, and the way this one was prepared felt a bit rustic; perhaps that's just how it's meant to be served.
I called the restaurant to inquire about their prices before placing an order, and they acknowledged that the prices on their online menu are outdated but refuse to update them. A very fine Italian restaurant! We had one of the daily specials (pork loin sliced over penne pasta covered by arugula and a balsamic glaze) and bruschetta. Since we shared we were able finish without being over stuffed. Highly recommend giving them a try.
The salad was fantastic, with a generous portion size, and I appreciated that they kept the cooked items separate from the salad to prevent it from getting soggy.
Maurizio's tagliata di manzo and burrata are among my absolute favorite dishes in Morgan Hill. They're delicious every single time!
