Nothing short of Excellent. 1st off, I want to say that the images that you will see here in Google maps, does not do Max justice. The grandeur of this restaurant is immense paired with eclectic art on the walls, styling of the architecture, floor to ceiling windows and beautiful lighting fixtures.. The valet is friendly and couldn't have been more perfect in distance to from curb. We were greated by an outstanding hostess and seated quickly in booth as requested with reservation. Ordered the Steak Frites and it was a mixed bag. Firstly it came served in a cast iron tureen, which, for someone as clumsy as myself, made cutting the meat awkward due to its high sides. However the vegetables involved were brilliantly highlighted by this plating method. I ate every morsel but having said that— I can hardly believe I’m saying this— I’ve had better steak. Tenderness, appearance beautiful but somehow flavor was lacking. Found myself wishing I had ordered the salmon. The key lime dessert on the other hand was indescribably delicious. This is a fantastic spot for enjoying a meal with friends and family while sipping on some drinks. The staff provided excellent service, and the kitchen was very accommodating when we needed to make several modifications to our meals due to food allergies. Additionally, if you're going to an event at the XL Center, the location is perfect as it's right across the street. I highly recommend giving this place a try and let them know the family from New Jersey sent you!
My girlfriend and I had a fantastic dinner last night after several years away, and I can’t believe I waited so long to return! It was Sharon’s first time visiting, and she loved it! The food and service were truly outstanding! Cassie and Abel were exceptional! I'm a swordfish enthusiast, having grown up on Block Island where I had the best swordfish around. I like Max's meals, I had shrimps there a couple months ago and it was delicious (close my eyes delicious) . So, naturally I'd go there again. On my second try the shrimps weren't as fresh as the first time but it was ok. I ordered salad, this is why my review is a 4, I eat with my eyes, so presentation is everything. The salad did not look appetizing and it did not provide that palatable taste I wanted. But I'll still give then a 3 try.
Parking: Valet parking was a breeze. When we were ready to leave, we simply handed our server our parking ticket. He kept one part for himself and returned the other to us, which we then gave to the attendant who brought our car. Service: We dined in and received excellent service throughout our meal.
I recently enjoyed one of the best seared tuna dishes I've had in a long time! I was truly pleased with how well this entire meal came together. The atmosphere was lively and fun. However, the bar service was a bit slow, which resulted in a lengthy wait for our drinks at the table.
