This high end restaurant offers excellent menu choices. Highly suited for celebrations/occasions or special catch ups. Ambiance first class. Overlooks vine yards. Views of the sea are stunning. Wine list will impress wine enthusiasts. Cocktails , both real (Expresso Cocktail worth a try) and Mocktails available. Quality of the food is of the highest standard. I loved the pork and tarte tatin. Vanilla ice cream superb. Table service on the day could have been more professional. Parking: If the winery is busy the car park may be busy. If your passengers don 't walk well, it may be best to drop off passengers nearby restaurant 's door and park your car as it might be too far for them to walk.
I would have given this restaurant 2.5 stars, but rounding up to 3. My friend and I had lunch here and spent $75 for two course meals each. The portions were on the smaller side, so I would suggest they consider increasing them. Overall, we found the experience disappointing. The service and atmosphere were just okay, and the food was average. I would not recommend this place as the price was not worth it and it was overhyped. We had heard great things, but it did not live up to the hype. You could likely get a better meal at a local pub for less money.
It must be incredibly gratifying to create exquisite wine. I can envision that the next endeavor would involve opening a remarkable restaurant with top-notch service to showcase that wine. Unfortunately, this is not the case at Max's. The restaurant is overpriced, the service is mediocre, and the lamb was burned. Overall, it was a disappointing dining experience. Came here recently for a birthday and we absolutely loved the place. The food here is second to none and the view is just amazing. The wine selection is fantastic and are paired very well with the food. The meal we were served was surprisingly different from what was advertised on the menu, it felt like we were given leftovers from a previous meal. When I inquired about the discrepancy, I was informed that there was a new chef in the kitchen. Unfortunately, the overall dining experience left much to be desired.
Had to choose from a 2 course meal for $75 or 3 course for $90. Tiny quantity of food. Nothing special about the flavours. Scallops were overcooked. Had to pay for water. Left feeling hungry.
Lunch today was exquisite. Service was 10/10. Views spectacular. Excellent value for money. Your wine was lovely. Of particular excellence was the freshness of the oysters. Highly recommend.
