I was deeply hurt to see a watermelon displayed in the window, which felt completely contradictory alongside a sign that says “all are welcome here.” I spoke to the owner twice, explaining that the image is offensive and painful to Jews and Israelis because it fuels antisemitism. The watermelon has sadly become a symbol used by antisemites who spread false claims denying the Holocaust and pair it with hateful messages like “6 million more!” This symbol is used to instill fear in Jewish people, and it’s distressing to have to walk past it every day. Despite explaining this to the owner, he refused to remove it. I wish I could give this place zero stars. Service: Dine-in Meal type: Breakfa...

I love this place—the food and atmosphere are great. However, I’m concerned about the recent decision to display a watermelon symbol on their window, which is interpreted by some as a call for the destruction of Israel. Wishing for peace between two nations is understandable, but using a watermelon symbol without context can deepen divisions. At the very least, I suggest displaying an Israeli flag alongside it. If you also fly a pride flag to promote inclusivity, it’s important to be inclusive of all perspectives, not selective.
