I can't wait to come back to Menkoi Ya Ramen!! You wanna know why?! Let me tell you! First off, they're broth came out HOT!! Not scalding hot...just right that it kept its temperature the entire time I was enjoying my meal! The noodles and chashu pork was amazing but the super star of the entree was the BROTH! If I could've drank it with a straw, I would've! So good and so much flavor! The only reason why I didn't give them a 5 star review was because their edamame was soaked in the chili oil. If I could give them a 4.5 star review, I would've. The service was great and the staff were attentive and sweet. Oh! Best ramen I've had in the Inland Empire... I'm used to ramen from the SGV or OC and good, authentic ramen is difficult to find. The broth was flavorful. The noodles are thick and have a nice bite not too chewy or soft. The bowls are a good sized portion for one person. I even contemplated getting extra noodles and chasu because it was so good but the bowl was the perfect amount. I also got their shishito peppers which came with a decent handful compared to other places I've been to before. Overall impeccable taste for the price. Didn't feel like cooking dinner so takeout it is! And Menkoi was the perfect choice for this cold December night. Chashu Vegetable Ramen: I don't know what it is about sautéed spinach, but Menkoi's is quite tasty. And just the right amount of Chashu *chef's kiss* Husband got the spicy Chashu ramen (spice level 4) and he was sweating bullets (lol). He did say despite how spicy it was, their broth is savory and makes you keep going back for more. Oh, and I cannot forget their noodles which was freshly made. Lastly, their Karaage chicken isn't too bad. There was a pinch of a lemon perhaps from the batter they use? Either way, I'll be back! Hopefully it won't be as busy as it was when I went to...
It is a nice restaurant, that is located in downtown area of Claremont! I have been here, last year, in 2022, in the month of May. They had a good selection of Authentic Japanese Plates, which do not include sushi rolls. Furthermore, they had a good selection of ramen soups. The one, that I have ordered, was quite delicious. In addition, it was not expensive. So definitely, if anyone enjoys Japanese cuisine, I would recommend a visit to this restaurant! Very authentic japanese ramen, reasonable price, big portion and great staff! The ramen its just as good as Japanese shop like daikokuya and others, i m so shock how authentic the broth are. Must try their black garlic oil pork broth remen, its taste like ramen shops in japan! This place is so under rated i think is do to location, I will definitely come back ! Also their rice dishes is soo good and you can order smaller portion for half price!! this is amazing if you want to try many dishes at once, well done Menkoi ya ramen!
Generally I like their food but I ordered two menkoi chasu ramens to go, and one had no pork while the other had 3 (supposed to be 10). I keep trying to call to let them know the error and can't get through. Probably fine for done in so problems can be corrected. Also, one of the soups had spilled in the bag, and I had to dump bag soup into one of the bowls. ?
I used to enjoy coming here, but it seems like the staff and food quality have gone downhill lately. A waitress with a pony tail was rude to someone in my party when inquiring about reserving a table. I decided to leave and drive to another place for ramen.Food: 5/5
