last week visited my family and I charleston for the first time; we asked a college friend to eat places and mex 1 was at the top of his list. his recommendation was not disappointed when mex 1 coastal cantina, no lie, served some of the best Mexican food I had in my life! Our group agreed that this was the best margarita we had during our trip. We dined in and the meal type was categorized as "Other." The price per person was between $10 and $20. We rated the food a 5, the service a 4, and the atmosphere a 4 as well. We highly recommend trying the Chips and Salsa and the Guacamole.
Very dog-friendly place with great Mexican food and drinks. Our server was excellent and went out of her way to accommodate us. I had the Mahi Bowl which was so good!!! The chips and salsa were really good also! I love Mex 1!!!!!!
Wait was one hour for a table and an additional 30 minutes for mediocre food. Restaurant was out of ketchup a basic at any food establishment. Fish was overcooked and fries (supposedly an upgrade from rice) were stale.

not too busy on a Saturday night, good atmosphere and not too loud. Great eating, can not go wrong with the baja bowls and the amazing garnels they have here. strong drinks without the strong taste, very nice place.
Mex 1 you guys are doing something right!! We had a blast last week! Shannon and Jarah were our bartenders and we had the greatest time with them! Food was also amazing! Can’t wait to come back!
Our server Morgan was amazing. She only started a week ago but she was the kindest, fastest server I have ever seen! She definitely made our experience and will be the reason I come back!
Good service. Went for brunch **** mary was great! Breakfast burrito was unimpressive, bland, and smothered in below-average queso. Other breakfast entrees looked better.
